Very odd

Dear Sam, he was never a nervous dog but he hated me sneezing ! Never reacted if anyone else sneezed, only me :mmm: . He would quietly get up and leave the room , just for a few moments . Now Reuben is doing the same, which is a bit of a bugger because I am suffering with the pollen at the moment but he is doing exactly what Sam used to do , maybe its a Labrador trait ?

Cassie doesn't like it when I sneeze either, she doesn't leave the room but walks over and stares at me, or tries to get on my lap. I didn't have a cold until she was 2 and a half, she hated me blowing my nose, got most perturbed. Come to think of it I don't any other dogs I've had reacting in that way, so maybe it is a Labrador thing!

Sorry you're suffering with the pollen Kate, that's miserable.

Hysterics here Kate! Kipper used to have a fit of the vapours if we sneezed. So much so we’ve got very good at stopping our sneezes (pressing above the top lip) or muffling them heavily in whatever comes to hand. He’s slightly better but we still scatter feed every time we sneeze now, it has made it more of a positive event than a worrying one but I don’t think he’ll ever be chilled about it.

Scooby hated OH's sneezes, he sort of muffles them and they sound like internal sneezes. Scooby would bark and growl quite aggressively at him. Whereas I don't hold back with my sneezes, I lat out an almighty loud ACHOOOOOO! OH hates it and claims they hurt his ears! Piffle. Scooby wasn't bothered by my rip-snorting sneezes.

None of the others have been bothered by either of us sneezing.

Maybe your sneezes are very high pitched? Aren’t dogs supposed to be highly sensitive to high-pitched sounds?

Snowie doesn’t bat an eyelid. A bomb could go off and he’d not wake up. But open the fridge... or rustle the poo bags... Food or a walk, the only things that will rouse him.

Carbon couldn't care less either. If anything he probably thinks, "Could could you keep it down? I'm trying to nap here!"

I wonder if it's something Reuben will get used to? Or maybe just consider it an intriguing legacy from Sam. :)

Nope, no reactions here. One of my siamese though used to give a garbled meow and leave the room....the only time did that was when I loaded the dishwasher! :inlove: God I miss that cat.
