Vet visit tomorrow

The dreaded day is tomorrow, check up day. Urg.

I had a good chat with my vet friend, who always sees Simba and knows what he’s like. He suggested a wee happy pill for Simba before the visit. So I’ve picked up two tabs. One for tonight and one for tomorrow before the appointment.

I hate having to resort to that but I hate having him so uncomfortable in the situation. Will keep you posted as to how it goes. :(

Honestly don't worry, and please don't think of this as a last resort. Really. I have no problem in giving any of my dogs meds to help them feel more comfortable if they needed to have anything mildly unpleasant, no matter how robust their temperament is.

Good luck. I totally understand the dreaded medicated vet visit as I had to do it with Ella last time. It was much better and more relaxed though so eased the guilt of the medication a little.

Welp we survived.

I didn’t see that the pill made any difference. He still had to be muzzled, still had to be restrained and fought the restraining. Still growled and would have bitten them without the muzzle.

Sigh. Interestingly enough it was not my vet friend this time who did the exam. He had been called out and I missed the message. But that’s ok, I kinda wanted to try an exam one time with a different vet, just to see if it made any difference. Nope. In fact this was a woman, so the other vet being male wasn’t a trigger.

They were very nice about at all and she got the jabs and kennel cough up the nose bit done quickly, which was good. She said she would still recommend the pill for next time in the hopes that it did take the edge off a bit.

Ho hum. Glad it’s over. :|
