Vets for Nelly

Having seemingly got over the bug that made young Reubs so poorly , Nelly started to show signs of great discomfort , arching her back and unsettled . I took them for a walk , she went happily but then started to pass mucus , so we went straight to the Vets who, bless them , saw her immediately . No high temperature but her tummy is very sore , so she has had an injection to calm everything down and its fishy suppers for a few days . She was such a good little girl , never cried , just licked the Vet as she stuck the needle in , bless her little heart xx

Judging by the speed at which she has just polished off a piece of haddock , the injection is already working She really is a pathetic little soul , so many health problems , but she is our pathetic little soul and we adore her xx

Oh, poor little girl. Squidge had us up vomming three times in the early morning again, poor monkey. It's sporadic, but relatively regular. Other than that, she's bright as a button.

A very sensible precaution in action at the Vets this afternoon . A notice on the door asked people to, if possible , come in without their dogs to speak to reception and check in and to first use the sanitiser on the counter , then fetch the dog in , see the Vet and use the sanitiser before paying and before leaving the premise . Might sound a little OTT but its better than being complacent x

It doesn't sound OTT to me, more like good practice anyway. Last week when I took Cass to my vets because she had been sick and was obviously under the weather she was clinically assessed in the back of the car anyway, because of her symptoms, before the vet decided it was ok for her to go into the surgery. Sensible, I thought.
