Visiting Carbon

Cassie and I are lucky enough to be spending a long weekend with Carbon and Emily in the Cornish hideaway, and what a lovely time we are having. Carbon is a true gentleman happy to rough and tumble with my exuberant girl, but makes it very plain when enough is enough. We've had two grand beach walks, and a visit to Padstow, which was fun. Well, that is, if you ignore the seagulls stealing your icecream! A treat for myself, gooseberry yoghurt ice, watch out for the seagulls said the lady who served me, oh yes I said. No one said within 2 paces of leaving the shop I would be mugged from behind over my right shoulder and be left with an ice of waffle cone.

Sounds lovely, apart from the seagull encounter.
Exactly the same thing happened to my cousin when we were holidaying in Cornwall. The shopkeeper took pity on her and let her have a replacement ice cream at half price
I hope the weather holds for you, although I doubt Carbon and Cassie will care much, rain or shine.

When we were in Padstow last June, Molly lunged at a swooping seagull and very nearly got it ( thank goodness she missed) but everyone nearby cheered!

I hope you have a great time. Cornwall is wonderful for dogs - beautiful coastal walks and very dog friendly pubs.

I remember dragging Holly past the pastie shop in Tintagel last year - very embarrassing!

Lovely Cassie and equally lovely Helen are on their way back home now. Señor Carboncito and I are so happy that they made the very long trip down to Cornwall. It was gobs of fun talking dogs and all sorts of other things and seeing Carbon and Cassie play until they wore each other out. Helen was very gracious about me talking her ear off and not providing the most gourmet of holiday food fare. Our unfulfilled quest for Cornish fish and chips just means you'll have to come back for another crack at it.

Carbon is next to me on the sofa in a sleep coma and it's back to work for me. I'll try to figure out how to post a few photos of C&C's sea-faring adventures on Carbon's thread soon.
