My sister once hit me on the back of the head with a ball from a chucker - she was standing about four feet behind me int he middle of an open field. It could have gone anywhere else, but no, back of my head it was!
And I was listening to a dog podcast the other day where the host was saying how she once threw a dummy in a trial and it hit the judge. Whoops!

I feel somehow we could make a competitive sport out of toy/dummy throwing. Including the retrieve
Since running a training class myself I have become surprisingly good at dummy throwing, after years of being spectacularly rubbish! It's more a knack than having strength or ability. But every now and then I still manage to throw a dummy into a tree. Whoops...

This is true. I'm not too bad at it, most of the time. J, on the other hand, who is far better at throwing most things, is truly awful. Embarrassingly so
I can throw a dummy, but cannot manage a ball chucker. For some reason, I cannot master the wrist flick, and the ball just whacks into the ground right in front of me. That's ok, hate the things anyway

Well, Kate @Beanwood might remember my very first try with one, when we visited The Dog Inn in Old Sodbury when the twins were nine months old. Hmmm, let's see if I can find a picture....I can throw a dummy, but cannot manage a ball chucker. Here we are. Kate on the left, then Marcus, and me on the right. A very skinny adolescent Willow in the background, and the lovely Casper closer. This is the garden at the back of the pub. It's pretty big. I stood at "this" end and threw the ball away from the picture.

Thankfully, it didn't break.
I now only use a ball chucker for lunging purposes
