"Wash Your Feet"

Just for fun I have been teaching Hattie to wash her feet! Today it came in very handy as we sank into a muddy bog in the forest so we headed off down to the river, in she went I cued "wash your feet" It is hilarious to watch, she stands in the water and stamps her feet up and down to clean them. She gets a treat for clean feet!

You really can teach an old dog new tricks. :giggl: Bless my girl :inlove: xx

I will try to take a video. Hattie has always avoided puddles which are actually pretty handy for getting the majority of mud off her curly paws. I started by walking her through puddles on lead treating her. Over time this became the norm, I then added my cue "wash your feet" and now she does without any fuss. Today was the first day she stamped her feet, I didn't train that bit! She does do a stamping of her feet when she wants to go outside, it's dinner or chewy time so I guess this is an add on. xx :giggl:

Oh I'd love to see Hattie stamping in a puddle.

I have Coco "spin" on the door mat when he comes in from the garden with wet muddy feet. I have been struggling to teach Meg(an) Sparkle, she is nowhere near as receptive as Coco (OK, so I haven't yet found how to push her buttons). At dog school we get short periods of "play with your dog" - and Meg is not keen on her usual play (tug or catch) in that situation, so I've been trying to teach "spin" and YAY! This week she got it. I've just tried it on the door mat - she did it! Only one spin then sat down but it's a start :dancesheep:

That is brilliant Sue I would love to see Coco spinning! I enjoy teaching non important things just for fun it keeps their minds sharp, also it's funny at times. Good girl Meg(an) Sparkle. She should be a quick learner having Collie genes. She will get it, it's still early days. xx
