Wasp Stings

Shadow caught a spicy sky-raisin the other day. I kept an eye on him for any signs of swelling, but there was nothing. He spat it out, and it flew off (!) but he was definitely stung. He “chomped” for a few minutes but was fine after that. I couldn’t see where the sting had been when I looked in his mouth.

I keep dog-friendly antihistamine at hand in case of reactions.

I was told baking soda helped and just found this:

Mix 1/4 of a cup of aluminum-free baking soda with 1 to 2 teaspoons of water together, and then apply the paste to the area that was stung. Reapply every 15 minutes or so. It's believed that baking soda can help neutralize the acidity of the sting and mitigate inflammation.

Not sure how practical that would be with a dog but I know someone who uses it on theirs.

I would also give Piriton (not Piriteze) but at the moment I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Me neither but this might explain it:
"Sometimes the acid compound used to make baking powder contains aluminum (sodium aluminum phosphate, for example.)"

It doesn't sound quite so bad when put like that
