Water Bowl Dangers

Haha, I'm another one that's fairly relaxed and hates to over-sanitise everything. My sister is the opposite, but I guess as a paramedic and nurse, it's fair enough that she wants to be as clean as possible. I don't even want to think about all the things she has to touch in a day! :puke:

Toilet, though - yes. That has to go down before flushing. J is very good about this, too, I have to say.
My daughter was a nurse and still in the medical world, but a more messy, untidy person you have yet to meet!

Quinn drags me to every communal bowl she sees...she especially enjoys the one at the vet which I imagine is the worst of the lot. I hate it when she drinks from bowls where you can easily see all the slobber built up in the little remaining water :puke: But I can't stop her...she's obviously thirsty and prefers these gross bowls to my nifty dog water bottle.

I am a clarty mare and only stick them in the dishwasher once a week. A rinse out before each meal only. They are always down on her feeding mat
Ok, I googled 'Clarty Mare' and nope. May I please ask what that is @Jacqui-S? I love how some really cool slang comes out here and there, and I'm sure I sometimes use some terrible Aussie slang without thinking

I too am not a clean freak. Kongs get washed out in hot soapy water after use and food/water bowls the odd rinse. We did a big spring clean today because (a) it really needed it and (b) we have friends coming over but otherwise I clean every week but not exhaustively. We do have to vacuum most days however. We all know why!

Talking of the toilet lid being left up , ( we were , weren't we ?) What about people advertising their homes for sale , photos of the bathroom with both toilet seat and lid up , puts me right off !!
Nelly has stainless bowls , I do wash them every day but they don't get as slimed up as when Sam was around ! x
