We have a monster!!

What? What?
How can you DO that!?!?
Haha, ok I might have made it sound more exciting than it was. I’m back on my phone, sat on the sofa as Squidge was crying in the small hours for some reason, so I got up to sit with her...
... anyhow, we keep our dustbins (one rubbish, one recycling) outside our front gate. On Friday, I went out and back in that way for our morning walk. I got back about 9:15 I suppose, and nothing was amiss.
At lunchtime, I went out to put a carton in the recycling, and the bins were on their sides about 20m away. There was no wind, and they were pretty full, so heavy. I went to pick them up, and the rubbish bin had obviously been attacked. The bit of the bag which wraps over the rim had been grabbed, pulled and shredded. You could see the teeth marks in it. It looked a bit like a grass skirt, the monster had done such a good job on it! :D

In all likelihood, I think that was probably dogs rather than the boar, as my gut feeling is that the boar would have stomped on and trashed the bins themselves, but they were really quite heavy, so I don’t know. Whatever it was was clearly quite determined!

My dogs are rubbish guards because they didn’t alert to this happening only a few metres from the house in broad daylight :wasntme:

Wowsers @snowbunny, that’s some beefy dogs you’ve got -wild ones, not your pack :) I guess it’s no bad thing that they settle so well during the night tho’, apart from little Squidge last night. We were up at the same time in parallel dog universes- Kipper was squeaky too, turned out he wanted a huge poo (knew there was one in the chamber ) and then he didn’t fancy bed again for a bit. I handle sleep deprivation far less well than you tho’...

You live an exciting and scary life!
Oh, not most of the time. It's really quite mundane here in my little corner of the countryside.

We saw a baby snake the other day... that was exciting! I had to stop the dogs standing on it for fear they'd squish it, as it crossed the path right underneath their feet! I couldn't stop to video or photograph it, because Squidge would probably have eaten it :D
