How did things go at the vets for Hugo
@Kelsey
It went ok, thank you for asking

The vet said it’s weird, and she’s not too sure what it is. But the fact that it has grown back three times makes her think it doesn’t want to heal properly so she wants to remove it. She said she doesn’t think it is anything to worry about so she doesn’t want me to worry even though she said she knows I will worry… She said for peace of mind because I’m anxious to just remove it and send it off to the lab and see what it is. She said if it does end up being anything sinister least we got it early, it’s small, and she will be able to get great margins, but once again told me to not worry. Are we noticing the pattern that she knows I’m a little neurotic?
So here I am trying my best to not worry. Sure doesn’t help that three years ago this month is when I found out Axel’s head lump was a malignant tumour that ultimately took him from me. But hey, I’m not worrying
I’m trying to remind myself the positives:
Hugo is from great bloodlines, no cancer in sight
He’s young
It doesn’t look like any cancer photos I have googled. Infact she agrees with me that it looks like a blood blister or a granuloma from the possible blunt trauma (the possible cat claw)
Also trying to think of clinical scenarios that I deal with almost everyday. Humans come in for removal of lumps and bumps all the time, often time it’s just cysts of some kind and they heal and all is well. I personally just went through this with a breast lump I found, just a little cyst and nothing scary.
Anyways, next Thursday, a week from today is the day he goes in to have it removed. I’m paying extra to get the results expedited, so should have them by the following Friday and then we will know. Two weeks of stitches, the cone and more bed rest. Poor boy has barely had any time to be free since coming off bed rest from being neutered
