What made you smile today?

I was watching "The Remains of the Day", which of course is set pre second world war on a country estate which features the inevitable shooting party, with the inevitable pheasant sound effects.
Cass was as usual settled for the evening sleeping soundly in her Baavet bed - until the said inevitable pheasant sound effects, whereupon she sat bolt upright and investigated the TV as if sleep walking before realisation dawned that it was coming from the black box! And just went back to sleep!
Pheasants must be so ingrained in her DNA/pysche!
I did have to chuckle!:hearteyesdog::penguinkiss:

They sit there all through the Spring, Summer and early Autumn, looking like nothing much at all, then just when you're pretty much giving up on the garden for the rest of the year, they remind you that they've been there all along, ready to cheer you up through the murky days to come.....View attachment 46392which is why I love Hellebores ❤
I spotted buds at the base of mine ready to bloom soon.

Thisafternoon I was doing some ironing and listening to Classic FM requests. The presenter was asking for people to text in before 4pm about things that brought them joy. It was 3.45, and I thought 'Well, why not?' and sent a quick message saying that my small Black Labrador brings me joy every day, because she's so sweet natured and her name is Joy. I didn't expect anything to come of it, then about ten minutes later I heard 'Well, we've got a bit of a dog theme here', and there was a request from a woman who met her husband when he stopped her to ask what breed her dog was and he (husband) makes her happy and then.... 'and this is from Candy, in Sowerby Bridge, whose dog brings her joy every day, and is appropriately called Joy'!!!
Well, I haven't stopped smiling since!🥰

Oh no, I missed it! I was out, picking up my eldest grandson from work and chatting to one of my little grandsons in the car, so I didn’t have the radio on. Tuppy would have heard it in the kitchen though!
