Vets today after Maslows limp and subsequent week of meds and lead only walks... luckily we had the orthopaedic surgeon vet who did a really thorough examination, shoulder joints were manipulated, elbows were checked and moved, I had to walk, jog and then run (!!!) around the car park with him whilst the vet watched.
Vets said no sign of swelling, no joint stiffness detected - back to working up on walks - he wants him to have a decent 20 minute walk on lead twice a day to start building him back up again (he said puppies lose muscle tone really quickly) we were chatting and he said he thinks it’s probably a result of me playing fetch with him after having 2 weeks of being kenneled - he’s gone for the ball too hard and stretched a muscle that’s already stretched due to how big is and how fast he’s growing (22kg now!!) he’s also said that weight is perfect!
So no ball fetch for 2 weeks and then it has to be controlled, no more pelting after the ball on a walk - training exercise only. He can do off lead but for a max of 10 minutes and no chasing dogs etc
Here we are celebrating our freedom
