Just as I got my woodburner  . As far as I understand all wood must be seasoned and only smokeless fuels will be sold, I could be wrong though . Now we’ll have the woodburner police  .

No one would burn wet wood anyway |( they haven’t made any legislation yet that I know of, no green paper - I think it’s just hot air. At the most, they’ll put further restrictions on efficiency of burners and maybe extend clean air zones. In my humble opinion :giggl: (wait for that to turn round and bite me...)

I think it's just to stop people buying those bags of logs at supermarkets, but that must be a very small amount of wood. You couldn't afford to heat your home with that - it would cost a fortune. Burning wet wood is a no-no anyway. Chimney fires here we come! I buy 4 yards of 2 year seasoned wood every year and keep it undercover generally another year before burning it. The heat output from properly seasoned wood is much superior to poorly seasoned wood. Stacking logs is very therapeutic and good exercise you know - except when being helped by a SBD!

It was a black piste and there was lots of fluffy new white stuff but I managed to find the crusty wind beaten snow. My ski flipped in one direction but my knee refused to move! I heard it pop! We had the piste insurance so my stretcher rescue and ambulance wil cost 50 euro instead of 500!

We bought a trailer load of mixed seasoned wood, we were so used to having our own wood in Scotland we weren’t sure what to buy here. Seems to be good stuff though, plenty of heat output when I lit the woodburner. I also bought a couple of bags of smokeless fuel as the installer said it would be worth trying if I want to keep the fire in for a while, haven’t got around to trying that though.
