Well, yes, he will swim in good time if he wants to
I say this because Cassie, at 6.5, doesn't swim , unless with other dogs on a Forum walk.
She loves water to wade in and cool off and get a drink, but otherwise doesn't bother!
She's deeply mistrustful of those waves which come towards her
