Holly’s not feeling too good at the moment. She’s enjoyed very good health for most of her life, seldom needing to visit the vet. In the last week we’ve been twice.

The first visit was for a common Lab problem: ears. Her left ear was getting inflamed and the usual cleaning regime wasn’t working. It’s now looking a bit better so we have a follow up appointment for Wednesday.

This morning she was vomiting froth and pooing blood-coloured diarrhoea. I’ve just got back from the vet and they think it’s colitis, with an outside chance of a partial obstruction. We’ve got her at home for observation. No food, only fluids with rehydrate sachets. If things look better by the morning then light food, otherwise take her back to the vet.

Just for fun we have workmen arriving today to refit the utility room. No stress!

So sorry to read! It is quite worrying time for you! I’ve been there once with Euan. He had a possible obstruction too, seen on X-ray.....He was so sick! Hope Holly will perk up with all the measurements taken! Off to a speedy recovery!!

Oh poor Holly.
Could she have picked up something whilst bog-snorkelling?
With it being so warm I worry what's lurking in ambient water.
Hope she feels better very soon xx
That’s what we think too. She found a new bog yesterday in some undergrowth, and she often takes a swig of bog water while she wallows. The poor girl can’t seem to settle at the moment.
