What made you smile today?

@Beanwood I do hope that we can keep her at level 2 for as long as possible, my vet's cat was at stage 4 for over a year which gives me hope. She's lost a massive amount of weight over the past year - despite having the appetite of a Labrador and being on a renal diet - so I'm just taking it month by month and hoping for the best.

@snowbunny we are snuggled under the duvet. It's always interesting to hear what English words we've held onto, and what we've invented. Why do you call them wellies, but Aus/NZ call them gumboots? Why do we all have a different word for jandals/thongs/flip flops? Where on earth did doona come from? Language is amazing!

Oh I see :wink:

I'm smiling right now because it is 7.00am on Saturday morning, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and Maxx is letting me sit and catch up on MLF instead of demanding play and attention. Is this the new way because he is now a 2 year old?

@snowbunny, I distinctly remember you telling me about 18 months ago, after a big moan from me about naughty Maxx, that he 'should' calm down a bit when he is around 2. I asked 'is that a promise?' and the whole community laughed and said 'no! they never really grow up'.

Not sure if it is just another teasing phase in between naughtiness but the last couple of weeks he seems to be a more (the words aren't flowing here) 'aware' of us, responsive, great recall and more cuddly. Or it could just be that it is getting warmer and he is feeling it. I'll keep you posted

Edit: I don't like calling it naughtiness but not sure how else to put it. Let's say 'over enthusiasm and kleptomania'

@Xena Dog Princess and @Natalie , I'm loving the cat-dog co-existence photos.

@Candy how is GGJ doing (except for obviously happier in her new cone)? I've sort of lost track of other threads and was wondering how she was doing.

Jet lag got me, so I was surfing the YouTubes this morning: the video below made me smile. I always think of Carbon speaking with a gentlemanly Antonio Banderas voice (vs Toby who had a sexy AB voice), so I found AB particularly "Carbonesque" here. Also I learned a couple new Spanish expressions!

GGJ is doing fine, thanks, apart from being bored, bored, bored. Stitches out next Friday.:tail:

Um yes, manically so. I guess when you travel that far you want to maximise your time! You should see our spreadsheet...it would rival the plans to build the next space ship :nerd:
We are a strange mix of organised (spreadsheet with accommodation etc) and completely disorganised.

We are off to Japan in a week and a half, for a wedding at the Meiji shrine! Excited but apprehensive about travelling with Rowan.

@Lab_adore, I remember when Sky was a puppy and digging up the plants in our garden, me saying to F ‘when would she stop these things?’ He said ‘two and a half’. I remember being really shocked it would take so long but it did happen. Red is almost 3 and so grown up yet still shows her exuberant body wagging puppy side. Sounds like you are nearly out the other side with Maxx that makes all the hard work worthwhile 😊
