The wind is howling down the chimney, the rain is lashing against the windows. I have had a massive delivery of logs and coal today. The stove is roaring, the freezer is well stocked with soup and stews, much of the Christmas shopping is done and Joy is snoring gently at my feet. The forecast says rain and snow for next week. Bring it on then! We're snug as bugs in rugs here!

This morning, while I was talking to my neighbour through her open kitchen window she (Cassie) decided to jump in through said open window
One minute she was by my side outside .... the next she was in front of their Rayburn

I sent the breeder of Red a photo of her this morning and a message to give thanks for such a lovely dog (Red is almost 3). She replied with a photo of Red’s sister - same parents but a later litter so full sisters. They kept her. Spitting image of Red

Thank you Rachael @Oberon for the recommendation. My beautiful boots have arrived! They are actually very roomy though I've only got tights on at the mo (lots of reviews said they came up v small and very tight around the ankles, definitely not the case with mine, but lots of room to tuck in jeans and wooly socks.) Thing is , I don't want to get them dirty

Lovely boots, @Natalie! I have some Dubarrys my sister bought me - I would never spend that much on boots for myself!! The problem is, even though they're the same size as hers, which are super comfy, mine are slightly too small and kinda cripple me, so I never wear them! I wonder if hers are comfy because she stretched them out because her feet are slightly larger than mine! Maybe I need one of those wooden shoe stretcher thingummies
