What made you smile today?

Looks like he's going deer hunting!

Lovely boots, @Natalie! I have some Dubarrys my sister bought me - I would never spend that much on boots for myself!! The problem is, even though they're the same size as hers, which are super comfy, mine are slightly too small and kinda cripple me, so I never wear them! I wonder if hers are comfy because she stretched them out because her feet are slightly larger than mine! Maybe I need one of those wooden shoe stretcher thingummies
I'm a small 3, could probably have done with 2 or 2 1/2 really, but of course they don't exist! Clarks, M&S and Next size 3s are always too big for me. People do say they give a bit over time, which worries me they might end up too big even with socks.

When I was a child I didn’t have dolls, I had teddies. One special teddy called ‘Oldie’. My brother had an Oldie too and we both had a Newie. We played for hours with them using a special language known only to us called ‘Teddy Talk’.

My Oldie is still with me but we thought my brother’s had long gone.

My brother’s daughter has got back in touch after 20 years and she has the other Oldie! I had a little weep when I met him again 💕

Here they are. My Mum knitted the clothes.

If they're leather, you might just have to suck it up and deal with the discomfort for a week or so. I just bought a new pair of shoes for work (they're slightly different to your boots)

Knowing they'd stretch, I bought the half size smaller as the bigger one slipped off my heels in the shop. Well, for two weeks I dealt with squished toes and blistered heels but now they're finally perfect!

I do believe some of the best shoes need breaking in. I bought the most perfect pair of wedge sandals whilst I was in Italy, they were agony for a week and needed multiple plasters. I then went on to get 8 summers of comfy wear out of them , only reluctantly getting rid of them after I'd coloured in the wear with a black marker and used insoles on the worn inners. I almost cried when I binned them.

A hundred years ago, I used to wear shoes like this, now I live in Wellies!

Watching back some video of practicing Rally at the weekend. This was a little clip of playing with Shadow after our training. He makes me smile so much :inlove:

His mannerisms (not sure you could even say dogs have mannerisms but this was the easiest way for me to describe it) remind me so much of Ella! He has that "I love you so much that I need to be physically sitting on you" combined with "I absolutely must move every single part of my body as I'm exploding with enjoyment" look about him 🥰🥰

That’s totally it! I don’t want to gush about how much he loves me, because I’m not sure it’s any more than the others; it’s just he’s so demonstrative about it. From the moment he wakes up, to the moment he goes to sleep, he wants to be in contact and doing stuff. Yet he’s also the ranger in the family; I have to work on him checking in when he’s “off duty” because he’s so hunty. But if I were to give him jobs to do every second of every day, he wouldn’t step an inch away from me.

He’s such a daftipants! Silly sausage 😍

Yes, there are little bits (not the whole thing, just teensy moments) in there that are so very like Joy is with me.
Just very special, lovely and touching.
