I sorry that Alexa upsets GGJ, I think it shows she is very intelligent to realise that you are talking to an inanimate box x
My feelings entirely! I do however have a slight confession to make. It used to be Alexa but now it's Google. Little brother is convinced he informed me of this last night. When I asked what difference it makes anyway, he said 'Well, if you call her Alexa she won't respond as it's not her name', somewhat smugly. It was not without some satisfaction that I noted that every time he mentions the word 'Google' in conversation this is whatever it is picks up on it and says 'I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean.' After this has happened a few times he ends up shouting 'Google! Just Shut Up!' This makes Jenny and me laugh a lot. Tee Hee! My niece, Sarah is also joining us on Christmas day. I'm sure there's some fun that can be had with this!:santa::xmasparty::xmasspirit::cwl::devil:

GGJ and I have had a lovely day! Found a lake where she could swim, first swim for her in over 8 weeks! She was so delighted, doing zoomies, rolling in wet muddy grass, very, very affectionate and sweet, almost like she was saying 'Fankyou very much' for being able to do proper dog stuff again. Back to Guy and Jenny's, she was still at work, he and I got on with preparing food for this evening and tomorrow along with the usual brother/sister banter which we both love. Lovely meal this evening ( our mum's Christmas ham) presents under tree, drinks and chatting, good times, and now they've gone to bed. Just my GGJ by the fire now, waiting to see Christmas Day in. Trevor and I always made a point of doing this, and of seeing each others' birthdays in and I see no reason to stop now.. I don't consider myself to be alone, I have my Little Joy, a family who love and look after me, all of you and my memories of a lovely lovely man, who celebrated things with the same enthusiasm as me. It's just about Christmas Day! A toast, love and thoughts to all you lovely people, particularly those who are missing someone special and dear to you. May you feel that person's closeness this Christmas xxx

I have had such a lovely day, and my GGJ has been such a little star! She's been in a couple of situations that I knew she would be likely to find a bit difficult but she dealt with them really well and other people also commented on this, and I just couldn't be more pleased with her! She's very sleepy now, me too. Walk with family, friends and dogs tomorrow. Goodnight, Good People! xxx

Yes, thanks, @Jelinga, we had a good day, if a little quieter than usual, although I’m beginning to think that I can’t do all the cooking any more (as well as dog-walking, decorating the house, cleaning, etc!).

I’m glad you enjoyed your lunch - drowning the Christmas pud in rum to light it, then eating it with a generous helping of rum butter usually improves it, but then you can’t rely on that when you’re eating out!

There was a slightly tense (?!) moment on Christmas Eve here when I had to make a quick dash to the shops to buy more rum when I found I didn’t have enough left from last year. (I shouldn’t have left it so late to make the rum butter - it doesn’t exactly go off!). During my last minute panic, my youngest son texted from Australia to ask if I could start his car and leave it running for forty minutes to make sure the battery was ok... he got rather short shrift!

What a long time it's been since I last posted here! However GGJ and I are off camping again for three nights from July the 19th.We're going with our friends Jason and Sofija, possibly some more people too, to Kirby Lonsdale in the Southern Lakes. I'm SO excited to be going camping again! Daren't tell Joy yet though, or I'll never hear the end of it!⛺ :giggl:
