I refuse to spend a lot of money on boots , so I bought two pairs of these cheapies , they are great ! Very lightweight which I need ,stand up to walking through sea water ( unintentionally !) , fury lined , chuck them in the washer and

I love my waterproof socks! They are quick thick, but not in typical woolly way. The snug fit gives a bit of anke support, stops any rubbing and keeps my ankles dry and warm.
There is quite a good choice, I have Sealskin ones

Ooo, I care. I had a pair of shoes I splurged on as a starving student in France thinking that if spent a bit more they'd last longer, I only had one pair of shoes. Those darn things got a hole in the sole after a couple rainstorms and my poor feet were wet for the year I had those dumb shoes. They looked perfectly fine from the top, but I had to be careful not to let people see the bottoms because the holes (and my attempted repairs) were really obvious.
When I could afford a new pair, I got my first pair of Timberland waterproof leather walking shoes. Bliss. Timberlands are not very well made now and are more of a fashion item than real shoes, but back then they were the bomb.
The main thing with me through the years is that often I only have one pair of shoes. If they get wet inside, they won't dry by morning and then I'm sticking my feet into wet shoes again. Yuck and yuck.
One of the great benefits of having the TARDIS now is that I can have multiple pairs of shoes. Another reason I can finally (hopefully!) add some boots. The luxury!

I got them on Amazon , one burgundy pair and one black . I can scrub them in warm soapy water when they get muddy , they come up like new and dont appear to let water in x Made a mistake on the price, they were only £12 with delivery per pair

Wet feet? No. No, no, no.
I have cold feet even in the summer (I have Raynaud’s) and find it so painful that I can’t tolerate anything that makes it worse.
Perversely, I also can’t abide hot feet.

Agreed, I have cold feet all day if they get wet.
Plus it's not just the wet, it's the mud, I think shoes might have been sucked right off my feet a few times this winter, I've walked in squelchy mud that's easily six inches deep this year
I have these in black, I got them from Wish so they came straight from China, and although they are comfy and snug with the warm fluffy lining, mine really aren't waterproof. Good for pavement walks when it's dry but cold. Agree they are easy to wash though

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with these. I have been amazed at just how difficult it can be to find good waterproof footwear.
I've resorted to a pair of my sons cast off wellies, which I found in the shed. They are surprisingly comfortable with a pair of thick socks, not ideal I know but they are keeping my feet warm and dry in the current conditions.

I live in Wellies "Chameau" and one pair lasts me at least 4/5 years. I bought some Meindle (sp?) boots but can't wear them as I have 'horrible feet'.

I cannot abide wet feet! No, no, no. I have had 2 pairs of Le Chameau wellies, and I did like them, but they wore out (inside) too quickly. I have a pair of Aigle Parcours now. I need really good ankle support, The Aigles are better that Le Chameau for this, but not as good a pair of leather walking boots, so I mostly wear my Berghaus leather walking boots. I love them, but they too wear out quickly- the heel wears down and one toenail (yuck!) seems to break through the Goretex membrane too soon so it lets in. If they do get a good soaking I dry them indoors, near, but not next to, a radiator. I clean them under a tap if they get really muddy and occasionally use Granger's Footwear Proofer on them. Current pair are still fairing well. I am considering going for a higher boot next...but dread the hunt. My Berghaus are so comfortable, even straight out of the box.
I had a most incredibly comfortable pair of suede Grisport boots once. I bought them in a sale, they were pale pink!! I am NOT a pale pink girl. They weren't waterproof, but they were great, no, perfect, summer boots.
