The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Great to hear that Donna is doing well, hurrah!

And also that you are allowed out for walks, that is so important for mental and physical health.
I agree; it's so important for me and my dogs. I do hope that we don't lose this privilege. I was talking to J about it this morning. If they bring it total lockdown, it will be because of people in the major towns pushing their freedoms and being a spreading danger. I know you can't say "that doesn't apply to me" when it comes to the law, but the reality is that we are not a spreading danger up here when we walk. We have made a game out of not touching anything between when we leave the house and get back in. This means finding the bins without lids to toss the poo bags into, and lots of other fun games :D
My feeling is that, if the law does become so restrictive that it will impact our mental and physical wellbeing, and if I consider it to be irrelevant to our circumstances, I will risk a fine to maintain that. But who knows? There are so many variables.

It's an interesting challenge, isn't it? I like your idea of making a game out of it! 😊

The hardest for me is not touching my face. Well, the hardest for pretty much everyone, I guess. I never eat fried chicken (not a non-sequitur, I promise) since I was a kid because as soon as my fingers got sticky, my nose would itch something fierce. Now I find it's the same thing - as soon as I go out, it's like my entire face and head becomes one itchy torture zone! But it's just a habit I have to learn, like when I started wearing makeup and had to remember not to rub my eyes.

I'm trainable. I hope.

I cracked and took Carbon to the coast (not the beach) today. I drove directly there and chose a spot with very few people, but one man did surprise me by coming up to me and reaching for Carbon while saying, "Oh look, he's so cute."

Before I could stop myself, I yanked Carbon back and said, "Don't touch him!"

Poor guy, I felt badly afterwards but he'd moved quickly away before I could properly apologise.

Only one week of "lockdown" and I'm already going loony! 🤪

On the bright side, the few other people on the trail purposefully kept their distance completely but giving a friendly smile or wave.

I've got a yellow give space in training lead. It's vivid and a lot of dog owners see the yellow and go away. I usually use it for busses. I also wear it so people can see it. Im also not shy about telling people to f**k off. I just say "no, social distance please" in a mildly threatening way a quick cough often helps.

What is a buff in this context please @snowbunny ?
It’s a tube of material. We use them skiing as neck warmers and to protect our faces when it gets cold. In general, there are two types: one is half thin cotton and half fleece (so you’d pull the fleece up over your face in the cold), and the other is just thin cotton. The latter can be worn as a headband or head scarf.
