Love Actually. 100%. We watch it several times per year

@snowbunny, one of my all time favourite films is the Green Mile. The acting is superb, the story fascinating and I'm a lover of paranormal (not horror) and this fits that bill completely.

OMG I watched that a few years ago and was really excited about it because it had been hyped up so much, then I was like, WTF?! I think it would be like watching Airplane! for the first time now. Epic film, wrong era!

I watched Vacation in the RIGHT era and didn't get it. Same with Gremlins - hated that movie. Maybe I'm just a Grinch?

Scrooge - the musical version. Albert Finney, Kenneth More, Edith Evans and Alec Guinness is an unlikely line-up for a musical but it works brilliantly.

Have to hunt this down, it sounds phenomenal!

Ooh, one more - The Slipper And The Rose , a musical version of Cinderella with an incredible cast: Kenneth More, Edith Evans, Michael Hordern, Annette Crosby, Richard Chamberlain, Margaret Lockwood, the cast of the Royal Ballet.... it’s incredibly 70s in terms of costume, and very OTT but the songs are fabulous and my sisters and I can quote the whole thing. I might suggest a zoom watch-along this year!

Don't have a favourite Christmas film but I would watch Die Hard or Gremlins, they remind me of Christmases when my parents were alive, it's bit of a non event for us now. I like the Green Mile but I wouldn't call it Christmassy or that feel good either, the good guy gets toasted! Really sad, and Mr Jingles gets squished too.

It's worth tracking down. It got four Oscar nominations - two technical and two musical.

The best, obviously, is "Die Hard"
The worst, by a considerable margin!, is "Elf". I suspect it is the Marmite of Christmas films

It's a nature film. It may be Attenborough narrated, I'm not sure. It is just a wonderful film with incredible sky and scenery shots, enveloping a strong, sometimes sad story of 2 Polar Bear cubs being raised by a devoted mum.
My only must watch Christmas film.
