Nisha and Talía (Negreta and Lulú).... a journey.

My vet had to go and dart a dog which was dangerously out of control, had bitten both owners. They could not open the door so it was suggested that the drug he was going to fire at the dog was put into some sausages and that did eventually sedated the dog enough to be euthanised. So maybe you could try that?

I think there’s a big difference between a dangerous animal and a scared one who wouldn’t hurt a fly. So, no, as much as we’ve jokingly talked about it, the risks involved are totally not something we’re willing to consider seriously. We’ll get there, don’t worry 😊
I wasn't suggesting darting the dog!!! Just using some of the sedative which the vet would use in the gun, injected into sausages, it was enough to sedate the dog as you said the 'normal' sedative did not touch Nisha.

Sorry, I misread it! Haha!
I think I'm the "dart the dog" comment culprit, made half in jest and fully not knowing what is involved and the risks with actually doing such a thing! Sorry.

You'll get this sorted out with your super science mind...then probably take out a patent on whatever you devise and save a bunch of other dogs in the process. 😍

We've been having some good progress on mat work recently (in the grand scheme of things, it's still minute progress day by day!) but the last couple of days, they've been under the weather. Yesterday neither of them wanted their breakfast, and only Nisha ate the raw chicken for lunch, and that was with considerably less enthusiasm than normal. We skipped dinner for them both. This morning, Talia is definitely feeling better, but Nisha has again refused breakfast (which I used a pouch of wet food which they adore, and a glob of Greek yoghurt) and, most indicative of feeling under the weather, she didn't bark at us!
I'm hopeful it's just a 24-hour bug they've somehow picked up, since Talia is back to herself this morning, but we'll have another "duvet day" for them today.

I hope they are both feeling better soon, poor girls.

It's especially worrying that they both fell ill at once. Can anyone else access your land without one (or multiple) dogs kicking up a fuss that you would hear?
