The cuteness is like natural camouflage in prey animals: it maximises their chances of surviving to adulthood.
In other words, the cuteness is so you don't murder them.
She is utterly gorgeous @Ashley . Just catching up on giardia - Kipper had a horrible bout of this when he was little that went on for months (it took ages for the vet to pick it up so we were probably reinfecting a lot). If you can nail it early that’s ideal.
We found live goats yogurt was incredibly helpful for building up gut bacteria once he’d been on antibiotics. Expensive but a lifesaver, in that it gave time for his little system to calm down and recover post-ABs. Great for lick mats too!

Primrose is 11 weeks and now 22.5lbs. I’m waiting to hear from the vet to see if the giardia has cleared up after the round of meds - it certainly hasn’t stopped her packing on the pounds!! She’s doing really well with training but a lonnng way to go with jumping at surfaces and people for food! She’s getting a bit pushy with Quinn - if she goes on Quinn’s bed and Quinn lays on it too, will bark in her face. Quinn is telling her off a little now, so keeping on eye on that and giving Quinn lots of space. We have gates everywhere now

Monday night, I took Squidge out at 12:30, 2:30, 4:30 and then got up at 6:30. I can't be cross with her because she really does need to go, but it can get trying.
Tuesday night and last night, I had full-on insomnia, and the little git only needed to go out once.
Once we got her crated over night, she’s actually been way better than Quinn was. She’s really quiet and patient in there - I can pop her back in after she gets up to pee at 5-6am for another couple hours of sleep. OH is also an early riser so takes her on weekends and days off. I think the harder parts are coming - she’s going to be big and boisterousThey are so cute together! You are managing them so well @Ashley and I'm in awe of you seeming so bright and cheery and not sleep deprived and tearful ( just me then)
I have to say I think you've hit the sweet spot with introducing a puppy at Quinn's age, it seems just about right.

I just could not deal with this - not sure how you cope. Could you consider a dog flap door so she takes herself out?
Bear was a shocker for toilet training - soooo slow, I only really fully trust him now at 12 months, I think - but has gone 9-10 hours through the night for a long while now which was the saving grace.
That's good - conversely, Bear has been much better since we de-crated him and he has the kitchen and dining room to be in. He actully prefers this to being up with us at night.

No, we wouldn't do that for security reasons. I wouldn't be happy having a Labrador-sized opening in the door
Also, there is no way that Squidge would come back in. She won't push open the door to come in if it's ajar just in case Willow is in the kitchen. She's ridiculous. Shadow, who has actually gone for her when she was a puppy, she'll barge right past. Willow, who raises an eyebrow in her direction if there's a chance she may be after the other end of the sofa, is too scary to deal with. Ridiculous.

To be honest, I'm happy to leave the door open overnight, but I just wouldn't be happy having such an easy access point into the house for when we're not there. And we can't have one in Andorra, anyway, since we're in an apartment

I have a Labrador sized dog door, I lock it when I go out and the back gate is locked.

I just can't see how they're secure, even if locked? You have a hole in your house that a person could fit through, and from the ones I've seen they're not exactly robust - little more than a large cat flap, and we already know that those are a disaster for burglaries as it is.
Of course, anyone can break into any house given the motivation (we have plenty of cordless tools which could do that in a matter of minutes), but it just doesn't sit well to intentionally put in a hole that a person could fit through
