Love the inclusion of a crêperie in the kitchen, indispensable 😆
I'm totally missing that...what creperie? But I have to admit that I'm much less concerned that I might feel a bit scrunched in there for a week now that we no longer need to quarantine. In fact, it's the perfect location for daytrips all around Normandy. Carbon says "Vamos!" 😁

I love our virtual tours!
I can't come to the level of you and @Sophiedoodle , but Carbón and I will do our best!

I cannot WAIT for this visit! I only visited once, as a kid, and it made such an impression on me. I hope that Carbón enjoys it!
I just hope it's not too crowded - it may be a short visit to the actual mount and a leisurely stroll there and back. We walked half of the way last time and it was a gorgeous walk with plenty of space. To be seen whether they let us in to the abbey - sometimes France is 'meh' about assistance dogs and let you go in, sometimes they act like you asked to have a wee on the Mona Lisa. Either way is fine - the walk alone is worth it.

Also excited about going back to an amazing beach we found by accident two years ago. Maybe I'll dig out some photos later and have Carbon tell you about it. 😁

Hola todos! So that we will try to not be so sad about leaving Cornwall soon, ML and I are thinking of the nice things will be able to see in France. Que buena idea, no? What a good idea! Our favourite day by far in Normandy during our visit two years ago was this muy bonita playa, very beautiful beach, with an old ruined church. ML says it is only one hour from our casita, little house, in Normandy, so we can visit again. It reminds me of Ireland a little, no?

Oh, this sand is good!
P1150127.jpg

That was exhausting. How about a siesta?

Closer?

Closest! What an adorable Spanish nose I have.

Ah sí, even if the church reminds me of Ireland, the beach reminds me of a little of Spain. Here I am on the same beach in Normandy...

And here is venerable Señor Brogan in Spain.

I looked at the church and wondered who had built it so carefully so many, many years ago and now that person is no more and would have had no idea that his work would be on a picture that many, many, many people would see.

That beach is incredibly beautiful, and that church is fascinating! Did you manage to find any history about it?
Random googling:

In a site untouched by any construction, between the cape and the dunes, stand the ruins of a church dedicated to Saint Germain le Scot, who evangelised the Cotentin in the 5th century. This was the first parish church in Carteret.

The first mention of this church dates back to the 12th century in a deed of 1125 in which the building was given to the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel by Renaud de Carteret. The churchyard was located to the left of the church, as the base of a cross in the churchyard still indicates.

The old church Saint-Germain is a catholic building of the Manche, located in Carteret.
It was built in the early 12th century on the cape of Carteret and dedicated to Saint Germain le Scot († 480) [1]. The first mention found dates from 1125, when it was given to the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel by Renaud de Carteret [2]. Other parts date from the 15th century, including a cross-vaulted chapel [1].
Threatened by the sea, the church was abandoned between 1686 and 1689, and partially demolished: its stones were used to enlarge the church of Saint-Louis [1], which took over in 1684 for the celebration of worship [2].
All that remains today are the north and south walls of the nave and choir [1] on the edge of the GR 223.
The built site and its surroundings have been listed since January 1942 [3].

Hola todos! After a misty and wet morning, the sun came out in Cornwall again. Que bien! This meant that ML and I got out and had what our amiga @Jelinga calls a "saunter". We sauntered at Bedruthan, where there are so many good smells and tastes! Sometimes I just have to stop and lick the grass or flowers to appreciate them, they are that deleeeciious! I have trained ML so well that she had her treat bag and when we met other people on the trail, she stops and gives me a treat. She is so smart and has learned her lessons so well, no? We also stopped so that I could model my many moods. I was serious a few times, but mainly I am a happy gentleman these days. Surfing every day is good for a dog's soul, de verdad. We also went up a steep path together. I had to work very hard to help ML balance, because that is my job. Vale, vale, one of my MANY jobs! I did a happy little cha cha cha at the top off the hill because we worked so well together: ML did not fall off the cliff or hurt her knee because I did my job oh so well!

Here is my serious modelling face (aka "Blue Steel")

Here it is closer. You needed closer, sí?

I licked this flower but I did not wee on it. De verdad - really.

Happy me!

Cornwall blues are ML's favourite. I do not see colour like you do, so I must take ML's word on this.

Me and the big sky.

Aye, que bonita la playa! This is Mawgan Porth.

My fellow surfers.

Estoy feliz una vez más - here I am happy again!
