He is a seriously adorable puppy! Yeah, much more dainty than he looked in that first photo with J. What wonderful news that the family who found him want to keep him. I'm rooting for that outcome: he gets 20 days with you to build up his puppy confidence, then on to a new family. ❤

I'm torn between wanting to keep her because she's just SO delicious, and wanting to have my best friends in Andorra (who have the twins' sister) take her.
But how wonderful that Bella now has TWO options, when just a short time ago she was in a nearly hopeless situation with her owner having died and her caretakers wanting to put her down after her 'accident'. You've turned all that around for her. ❤

It's a bit weird having an emergency foster puppy. I am split between feeling of guilt because I simply don't have the time to care for him as I would if he were my own puppy, and knowing that what he's getting here is a darned sight better than he would have at the shelter, if that were even an option.

He has to live in the kennels because we don't have the space in the house, and I don't have the time to be taking him out every little while, entertaining him, and managing all the other dogs with him. It's just not possible. And whereas Talia has the run of her inside bit and the whole outside, we have to keep them separate while not supervised, so he's shut in his kennel except when we're with him. His kennel is large - I'm rubbish with dimensions, but it has a king-size mattress in it which takes up about half the floor space, and then there's a fully-enclosed "den" area at the back, which is probably 1m x 2m in size, which has a memory foam bed in it - or did, until it somehow exploded overnight.... :wasntme:

I'm taking him for little walks three times a day, and he gets a couple more times of just being visited for food/cuddles/supervised play time with Talia. He doesn't make any noise when I'm not there, and seems perfectly content, but it's just not how I would choose to raise a puppy.

J is away at the moment, but will hopefully be back late tomorrow, so I will get some photos over the weekend.

This. And I'm sure he is getting more attention than he would in the shelter environment - though obviously the people at the shelter have the best of intentions!
In the shelter, he would be in a small kennel with several other dogs/puppies, cleaned out twice a day, but the kennels are always covered in runny poo and wee because the dogs all have diarrhoea. He’d be let out into a drab compound once or twice in the day, and no significant time being cuddled. Because there are too many puppies, and other dogs, and not enough volunteers.

So the one plus side is he would have more (canine) social interaction throughout the day, and I can’t give him that.

He is definitely better off here than there, but he would also be far better off with a proper family who could prioritise him, as I would if I had chosen the right time to bring a puppy into my life.
