I was hoping you had no real live work to do as well as looking after the doggies.
Only the paperwork and accounts for OH business. That's where the pizzle stick came in, I did actually manage to get his accounts up to date before Toffee decided to swallow the end of the stick. We've had no repercussions from him swallowing it :whew:.

Oh,and of course, all the vegetable garden which has really gone to pot since Toffee arrived. Luckily it's mostly just harvesting at this time of year, so something I can trust OH with when he's here :hmm:.

I think the following you comes with time as well as practise on settling. Mas still does this but is significantly better since we did relaxation protocol.

I also followed boogies advice whereby every day I left him for 1 minute, then 2... we are up to about 40 minutes now before I hear a scratch at the door and a forlorn ‘am I all alone.....’

@Leanne i started the relaxation protocol with Toffee, it took us 3 days to get through the whole of day one in one go, but I was quite impressed with that at his age. I decided I would do it with Ripple as well, that wasn't very relaxing though as Toffee knew what we were doing and barked through the baby gate for the whole of the time . Ripple did a very good job of ignoring him as he was concentrating on the treats.

I think it will be a very useful tool, good at building a bond and a nice quiet bit of training for when everything is getting out of control .

I seem to structure my whole days around making sure Toffee doesn't wee on the floor, tonight I mistimed it and he weed just as I was putting my coat on to take him out. Then I shouted at him  - I am so cross with myself, it wasn't his fault, he was tired and waiting to go to bed, he's such a good little boy, I feel like a really horrible Mum :'( .

Don’t worry, we all do it from time to time. Forgive yourself.

I yelled at Spencer the other day when he was playing up for having his collar on (he thinks everything is a toy). They are very forgiving.

When it comes to wees, we all miss some, we can’t be vigilant 24/7 - forgive yourself.

Spencer is only just reliable at nearly six months old - last week we were still having some widdles. He’s been the slowest pup yet to ‘get it’. I use puppy pads to clear up - easy and fast which makes the accident less annoying :)

Every time I think Toffee has 'got it' we have another fail  . Although it does seem to happen most when he's tired. He also still poos in the crate very occasionally, he doesn't bark to go out, just does it. His asking to go out when he's in the room is very fleeting but I've mostly tuned in to it, although OH nearly always misses it when he's here. I think we're very much still at the keep taking him out stage, the slowest of all my boys. But he's so lovely in other ways :inlove:.
