Good to read your update and you have an appointment at last. I met a man who had two Cockpoos from the same litter, one behaved like a Poodle and the other one was a bundle of energy and behaved like a Cocker!

That reminds me of Holly’s littermates. Some hurled themselves at us. Holly held back until the fuss finished then had our undivided attention. Smart dog. I think we’ll take the same approach this time.

@Hollysdad Ive just read the whole thread and caught up on all you’ve been going through. I was glad when I got to the end to find out you’ve got an appointment and a good possibility of a new pup. Its been a while so I thought I'd update folks on our dog hunt.
Our search for a low/medium energy dog around the rehoming sites has produced nothing so far. The choices seem to be:
1. Old dogs. We couldn't face taking on a dog towards the end of its life. It sounds selfish but we have to be realistic. Nursing Holly took a lot out of us. We'd like a dog to have a reasonably long period of healthy life with us.
2. Bully XL and Staffies. Their are lots of these dogs available. A more pugnacious dog might be a bit much for us.
We've put ourselves on the list for a litter of Cockapoos due in late March. The breeder has a good reputation and the dogs are more the size, temperament and energy level we've been looking for. We're currently 'reserves' on the list as the typical litter size is 5 puppies so we'll see what happens. If that falls through I guess we keep searching the rescue organisations and looking out for potential litters.
Meanwhile I've gone private on my neuro problem. I can get a private appointment in mid April, which is a lot better than Sep/Oct for NHS. If everything goes to plan we should have a diagnosis and a puppy by the end of May. Fingers crossed!

This is cheering news. Good that you have gone private for your neuro problems. It seems the only solution if you can when NHS waiting times are so excessive. I hope your appointment goes well.
A puppy sounds most exciting, if all goes according to plan we shall expect lots of pictures.

Have you looked at Many Tears rescue as they seem to get a high numbers of puppies / young dogs?

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve tended to look at local centres as travelling is an issue at the moment. I‘ll have a look at Many Tears and filter for this area to see what turns up.
