Really glad to read that Red is doing so much better! Go, Red, go! 
I’m so pleased to hear Red is so much better.
We find that just covering the wound stops Snowie from licking. We use vet tape or socks depending on where the wound is. I usually clean the wound well, apply cream, then put cotton wool or a cotton bandage, then the vet tape or sock (I use masking tape to keep the sock on, like a garter). I only leave it on overnight; otherwise, I leave the wound open to air dry.
As for treats, I’m always amazed when people give other people’s dogs treats! Of course, Snowie would definitely be begging! But, still, I would never just give a strange dog a treat. Well, I say this theoretically, cos Snowie would’ve already eaten them all up!!

That’s kind of you @Cath to ask. The HGE has left her lacking in stamina (understandably) but she is getting there. I got a leg sleeve for her shaved spot but
haven’t needed to use it (comforting to know it’s there if necessary).Yesterday afternoon, we noticed her left eye was partially closed and she was blinking a lot. She was occasionally pawing it. We ‘washed‘ her eye. This morning the eye is fully open but watering. I’ve seen her paw it once. She’s sleeping now but will be watching her carefully. Really hoping it’s not a vet visit as they are closed until Tuesday
The opthalmologist vet showed us how to flush Snowie’s eyes with saline: large syringe full of saline and use it to put drops of saline in his eyes, and you can also plunge the entire syringe to flush the eyes. You can pull down the lower lid to make it easier to get the saline in. Then wipe with cotton pads. It’s amazing how effective it is. I hope it was just some dust for Red. It can be very irritating (I know for myself as a contact lens wearer). We also have to put eye drops in Snowie’s eyes daily. At night he gets a gel, which is easy to insert with an earbud onto the lids. The dropper (human eyedrops) isn’t as easy, but I’ve become quite adept at it and he’s become more compliant.
I hope Red responds well to the eye washing and that you can avoid a vet visit.

Thank you @M.F. for the useful advice. I think her natural watering of the eye must have cleared whatever it was as she is ok
.Just need to get her energy levels back now.

I am feeling so despondent - Red has had diarrhoea again this morning on our walk. Coming again so quickly after recovering from HGE, I am worried. I’ve given her Pro Kolin to settle her stomach

Oh dear, hope it doesn't develope further. Perhaps a check up with vet? I am a great advocate for Science Plan Gastrointestinal Biome, my friend recommended it and I was reluctant to try it, so glad I did as it cured Flickaof the diarrhoea she had since I had had her and really settled her bowels. I now have a small bag in reserve 'just in case'. I think I used the small bag 1.5kg and that did the trick.

I think this has chicken in it. I have avoided chicken since she was a puppy when she had a lot of upset stomachs.
Will be monitoring closely and will contact the vet if needed. They won’t advise over the phone though

Oh yes, it does I see 9%, I have always kept Flicka off chicken because it upsets her but this didn't. I probably wouldn't have given it to her if I had known! Have you tried tinned Pumpkin? How is she this afternoon?

Sorry Red has a poorly tum again, I hope she's right again really quickly. 
Snowie had HGE on and off for 3 months! It felt like he’d never get better. He was given antibiotics at least twice (I forget if a 3rd time). Eventually we went to the holistic vet because nothing was helping. The holistic vet recommended half a cup of kefir every day (plus I’m sure he gave him herbal and homeopathic meds, although I really can’t remember—but knowing that vet, we’d have left with lots of little bottles!). I don’t know if Snowie was getting better anyway, but he turned the corner at this point and didn’t have anymore HGE after that. Thereafter, I would make my own kefir and he’d get it fairly often. We’ve stopped it of late cos of Snowie’s allergies (removed all dairy).
