I had just come back from shopping and was closing the gate, when two Flat coat retrievers came running up to me.
What beautiful dogs. The two sisters were 3 years old. The lady owner stopped to talk and was most impressed that I knew what breed they were.
I said my friend has just got one of these beautiful dog

I was just stuffing some Kongs for the freezer thisafternoon, with Joy standing by, ready to help as always, when I became aware of a bee buzzing frantically against the kitchen window, trying to escape. That particular window doesn't open, so I grabbed a glass and a piece of card to catch it with and put it outside. It grew more angry, buzzing around all over the place, so I said to it 'What you need to do is settle down. Go on, settle!' I then glanced behind me and there was Joy, in a perfect 'Settle ', just like I taught her when she was a pup!
I was trying to work out when I last used 'Settle ' with her....not for about six years I reckon, infact I'd forgotten that I ever taught her it, as it's just not needed anymore! It did make me smile though, to see that she still remembered it when I'd forgotten.
