we have had the wettest August in 27 years.

The brother of one of my friends lives near Newcastle Oz and is fed up with all the rain you have been getting.

We had some rain last night (it wasn’t forecast) and it’s drizzling a bit now. Thank goodness. F scarified our lawn yesterday. What a filthy job - the dust was horrendous as the lawn was bone dry and yellow and the weeds were shocking. The rain has damped down the dust and can only be helpful. A lot of reseeding will need to be done next month.

When I took Red for an afternoon walk, I noticed how withered a lot of the leaves on trees are - Autumn has come early but this is not normal for Autumn

A friend and I were just remarking yesterday on how Autumn seems to have come early this year, in that the leaves are already starting to turn. Thismorning we have a little light drizzle, but what we really need is a torrential downpour.

Several hedgerows of Blackthorn and May are dying here, wild cherry trees drooping, trees turning far too early. Still no sign of rain!!!!

Today is (hopefully) the last day of needing an ark and it seems spring might be around the corner after all.....next week even!

Today has been the perfect temperature for me , 22 degrees but my poor lawn is looking very sad and rather brown xx Our reservoirs are looking shockingly low just when we have thousands of visitors all wanting showers and swimming pools . I love the warm weather though xx

Still no rain. Some of the leaves are falling and it’s beginning to look like autumn. (Tuppy wasn’t impressed that I paused her treat hunt to get her to pose - she scuttled off again before I could take a better photo!)
