Challenging night

I am wondering if she has an uncomfortable tum, she has been biting her flank so must have an area of being uncomfortable. I had problems with Flicka's bowels and now use Millie's Wolfheart dog food, the dry one and she is completely better now.
Yes, I agree. Holly (previous dog) was on Millie’s Wolfheart and got on well with it. I didn’t originally switch her onto it before as they don’t have a specific puppy formula but will call and ask for their recommendation later. Good to know that it worked for Flicka.

Next door's Springer Spaniel was on it from 4 months. I understand that although they don't have a specific puppy food it can be given to puppies.

I just spoke with them - they are very helpful. They recommended Duck and veg or Utility mix (white fish). They said that most of their foods are ok for puppies; the reason they don’t have a specific puppy food is that they would have to charge VAT (assume pups are not considered working). I have just ordered some duck and veg.

I changed Stanley to Millie Wolf heart when he was about 5 month old as everything else gave hom squishy/runny poops. I think it might have been the riverside mix. I am now trying out some different flavours. I don't think it helped much with his sleeping apart from the fact that as his poops were more solid and regular so I didn't worry about him needing to poop in the middle of the night.

That’s good to know. Like you I am hoping that it might firm up her poos and reduce the frequency. Also might stop her biting her flank/tail.

My question is whether the crate is covered, is it "cave like" enough, that always helped for us (and a frozen kong at crate time was always a winner).
Yes, that was my initial thought too. If frozen kongs cause too much excitement/frustration, maybe try a little peanut butter inside instead.

Also, I’ve always had the radio on fairly softly too, usually Classic FM, just to help distract from normal household sounds and foxes in the garden!

She slept ok in the crate/pen!
I hope it continues! Try not to be put off by any glitches. It’s useful to keep to a regular bedtime routine if possible and persevere until it becomes the expected pattern and everyone gets a good night!

Joy was also a Classic FM puppy. (That's why she's so cultured and sophisticated now!):giggl:

Cassie is being inducted into the world of “I’m sorry I haven‘t a clue”. Since we are more or less confined to the kitchen diner, OH bought a set of CDs of all the episodes - we are currently listening to the inimitable Humphrey Lyttelton leading Tim Brooke Taylor, Graeme Garden, Barry Cryer and Willie Rushton. Very funny!

No better induction!! I’m pretty sure I was raised on it as a puppy 😆
