Sounds like a bit of a bitter-sweet day. Sometimes the what-ifs are the hardest to cope with. But in the end you did what was right for you at the time...and just think of all the adventures Carbon would have missed!

I’m glad you get to recharge with the Beanwood gang! Safe travels!

Oh my word, those two in the double bed for Labs—the expression on that one on the left!!

I feel for you the “what if” feeling re the booked puppy.
The two in the bed are Hop and Luna - biggest Labbie love sponges ever. I just adore them.

Yeah, the 'what if' feelings hit me big time. Absolutely nothing against Carbon, by the way...just me thinking about the last year and all the weirdness.

I thought Carbon handled himself very admirably, though I don't think the breeder was too impressed with his scrawny (next to her girls at least) self. He didn't care, though...just found a big old bone out in the garden to work on and had a good old time!

Though I think you need to stay in one place for more than two nights in a row very soon Emily xx
Truer words never spoken! :cwl:

Starting Sunday night I'll be back in Regensburg and there for a full five weeks...even if it means battling German bureaucracy for the majority of that time, I have to admit that I'll be happy to unpack for a bit and just stare at the same walls for several days at a stretch.

If I start to get itchy feet after only a couple of weeks, I'll trust in my forum friends to virtually knock some sense into me. :hmm:

On the other hand, as of this moment, from January to mid June I again have no where to live so it'll be back into the Tardis for parts so far unknown!

Carbon's a star, isn't he, so adaptable to different dogs and places.
Also truer words never spoken.

Goodness, how I love reading your journey, often bright and so positive and sometimes bitter-sweet. All recorded with magic though - my word you have a talent x
Thank you, that gives me such a nice boost!

Have a good rest at lovely @Beanwood ’s home - and lots of kitty snuggles
Thank you, Mags. All safe at @Beanwood now and enjoying the multi-species ambiance greatly!

Quiet day today, mainly because the weather has been awful! Gale force wind and rain. So @Emily_Babbelhund has had a bit of an enforced rest today! :) We took a lovely stroll later this afternoon to our local small nature reserve, just to potter around with the dogs. All were very good, apart from Benson, who decided to leg it in the opposite direction when I blew the recall whistle! Well understandably in hindsight as we were both cooing over a simply gorgeous HUGE 20-week black labrador puppy! Guess what though is related to @snowbunny's Luna! Grandad being Naiken Zephyr.

A short update as tonight I'm too lazy to cludge together my ailing laptop with the usual twine and chewing gum so it's the one finger shuffle on my mobile.

Today we said our goodbyes to the @Beanwood crew with the hopes it won't be for TOO long. I resisted kidnapping kitty Stoli, but just barely. I've always found the appeal of cats to be a bit of a mystery, but I adore baby Stoli and have nicknamed him the Catdogmonkey - or as Kate says the CDM - because 'cat' alone just doesn't do him justice. I hope he doesn't become too serious as an adult for a cuddle and play!

Then it was on to @Granca's for a very nice walk, play and lunch with Wispa, Tuppence and their human. Carbon had several massive hoolies and had a blast finding fox toys in @Granca's beautiful big garden. Happy boy! Many thanks to the two girls and @Granca...and photos to come!

Another hour and we arrived in Folkestone. Our hotel is one of those huge Victorian mansions with a warren of cozy rooms. The owner showed us to our room, fawned over Carbon and said laughingly to him, "Oh you're going to end up on that comfy bed, aren't you?". No fooling her!

After Carbon's dinner we had a stroll in the dark down to the seaside. It was so dark you couldn't tell if there was water there or not, but the neighborhood has some gorgeous Victorians that make it look like a doppelganger for London's Holland Park, which made for a pretty stroll.

Now Carbon is curled up at my feet and in a darn good mood considering that we've left our UK doggie and human friends behind. Maybe he thinks we live here now and will be starting the tour again tomorrow? Whatever is in his head, I'm grateful he's so cheery as I'm feeling more than a bit sad that our current odessy is nearly at an end.

On the bright side, I've got enough photos that I've not edited yet for Carbon to post up until Christmas.

You've been warned. :wasntme:
