... But frankly my guess is that Harvey wasn't the only one slightly relived that Carbon and I had moseyed out the door and down the road! ...
Nonsense! Harvey, @Mrs UB, and I were sad to lose our lovely guests. Although, you may be glad you left when you did as shortly afterwards I would have inflicted "I'm a Celebrity" on you! ;)

Carbon is a lovely dog. Even allowing for Muffin-gate!

Enjoy the rest of your adventures ...

Today it was all about the Carbon and Monty show - those two boys are thick as thieves! @Natalie and I had a catch up during a walk through her local forest and then lunch at a very dog friendly pub. It even has it's own pub dog named Leila who greeted us. I think she was a Dogue de Bordeaux puppy, but whatever she was, she certainly was enthusiastic about her job.

Carbon would tell you all about it himself, but he is happily snoring away on our temporary sofa, surrounded by his bunny family. So I'll just do the honours myself. ;)

100% of Labradors agree, @Natalie has the best treats around!

And now at the end of the day, a very happy pup cuddling his Bunnies and dreaming of more forest adventures with Monty...

Thank you so much for a wonderful day, lovely @Natalie and sweet Monty.

Ah it was so lovely to see you both again too Emily. Monty's zoomies are few and far between so it was great to see him having so much fun. He basically fell asleep when you left and only stirred for 20 minutes while we ate dinner, then it was more sleeping up until 15 minutes ago when I got up. He's walking ok so no ill effects, fingers crossed.

A nice sensible one:IMG_20181122_144619906.jpg

Thank you, thank you to the legendary @SwampDonkey and sweet Rory for a very fun day! Carbon and I are so happily worn out that it's off to bed early and neither of us has the fortitude to post photos.

BUT we did get photos, including some modeling shots of Carbon's new Swampy approved rain coat bought from Rory's favorite store.

And @Beanwood, Swampy has assured that I now have a properly toned Labrador whistle...with a lanyard and in purple no less!

I've arrived in west Yorkshire (I think?) and my oh my what a lovely cosy house. Fire, leather sofas and BBC iPlayer on the tele so I can treat myself to a do it yourself Doctor Who marathon.

All that means that I'm not even pulling out my computer or camera instead opting for sci fi and dog cuddles.

Today was good driving across the Peak Disrict. Lots of traffic through the little towns as it appeared to be the first day of Christmas markets nearly everywhere. Carbon slept through it all and is sacked out again tonight. All those forum visits did him in!

He better get some good rest 'cause tomorrow we get a visit from @Boogie and Spencer. Yay!:happyfeet:

OK, got out the computer after all. Such an addict, it's not even funny.

After a very nice evening semi-cuddling in front of the faux-fire, Carbon has declined to come up to bed and remains on the sofa. Grrr! I call that serious neglect of his dog duties. He and I are simply not compatible on my idea of a cuddle which is that he should be stuck to some part of my body at any time that I'm not moving.

Mmmm... I do think that if Carbon is Señor Grumpypantalones, I just may have turned into Ms. Grumpytrousers. :hmm:

I may have hotel/motel/Airbnb burnout. The Leamington house was great, but a warning about the wet concrete right at the parking area would have been good - my boot print will likely still be there in 50 years time - and the invite to go out drinking with the owner and his friends was well-intentioned but left me feeling awkward.

Tonight it was Google Maps sending me to the wrong #6 which left me peering into a poor family's home like a peeping tom and resorting to asking the neighbours where the Airbnb was. (Spoiler alert: they didn't know.). And while this place is really lovely, it does feel like I'm staying in my auntie's home and she's just stepped out for a bit. Which makes sense as it's the owner's full time home, she just rents it out on the weekend to help boost her pension. I know I shouldn't as it's her choice and she was lovely about it all, but I feel as if I've knocked some poor lady out of her comfy home. It's all a bit weird and left part of me yearning for the sterile anonymity of my beloved Ibis hotel chain.

On the bright side, you don't get the entertainment value at Ibis. Tonight when I was toweling off from my shower, a pair of the owner's size 12 black Debenhams pants dropped out of the towel when I unfolded it. Trying to figure out where I should put them so that the owner will find them but not be embarrassed by me finding them gave me a case of the giggles. I know it's not really that funny, but those black pants seemed a good symbol for just how odd my life has gotten lately.

Normal people just don't randomly find someone else's pants in their bathroom, do they?

I may have finally found the cure for my insatiable wanderlust in this two month road trip because...and I say this with all sincerity...I'm really feeling a deep desire to sign a year long lease somewhere and buy IKEA plates.

And yet even while I'm thinking that, I was also marveling tonight while out with Carbon at how lucky I am to walk down a quiet Yorkshire (yeah, still not sure about where I am, but you get the gist) lane, hear the creek babbling, admire the old row houses which haven't changed in a couple hundred years and just bask in the differentness of it all. Even the Airbnbs are interesting because they are a peek into how other people live - young and hip in Leamington or sweet, antique and very organised here in Hebden Bridge. Maybe if I ever do settle down, I will be able to bring a little of the best of each place with me.

Alright, that really is it for me for the night now. And it looks like that darned Carbon is really going to sleep downstairs on the sofa...

...see if he gets any kisses from ME tomorrow! :speaktothehand:

Carbon showed up in the bed sometime during the night. Not sure if he just got too cold downstairs or he actually missed me, but hey...baby steps. :D

Can't wait to see some photos of the Spanish Gentleman Dog with the Chocolate Gentleman Dog - when you're ready, of course :D
Yes! I owe you @Selina27 's Cassie as well as gentleman Rory!

Fair warning, I've not taken as many photos lately as I'm trying to (1) get back into Carbon's good graces as he's taken a distinct dislike of the camera and (2) learn to live more in the moment more and not perpetually have a camera glued to my face.

However, I'm still an admitted camera addict so do have Cassie and Rory photos...and I imagine I won't be able to resist snapping away at Spencer today. I mean, THOSE EARS! Who could resist?? :giggle:

Hola todos! I am taking over again as foster lady cannot be trusted. Talking about pants? Calling ME Señor Grumpypantalones? Pfft! And waiting so very long to let me tell you about all the wonderful visitos with my Eeeenglish amigos and amigas? De verdad, the truth is that she is not doing her job.

This is a job for a Spanish Gentleman Dog. That, mis amigos, is ME.

A good thing I can say about foster lady is that I am training her to take less photos. I simply do not like that big black thing looking at me. It is like a scary black eye. So we have less photos, but that doesn't mean that I am having less fun. Oh no, I am having mucho fun! Benson's human Kate already told you about my adventures with Benson, Bramble and the very elegant Rourke. He is a very suave gentleman dog who can do a real smile! And he has the best beds and teddies.

I think I need a teddy. I must tell foster lady to buy me one. A real English teddy too, all soft and squishy. But not squishy like baby Reuben...the good kind of squishy.

Oh...donde estoy? Where was I?

Oh yes, my visit with Rourke and his very nice lady human. But did you know the day before I had a visit with Cassie and HER nice lady human? Cassie lives in the middle of the best park ever and she has her won duck pond. Que milagro! What a miracle! We also went to the pub for lunch. I must confess, I was un poco grumpy at the pub because foster lady made me stay under the table while Cassie got all the attention. Si, she is muy guapa, but come on...so am I! Why must I hide my light under the table?

Then we went back to Cassie's house and Cassie and I got into a little argument about a peanut butter bone. De verdad, the truth is that I am now a little embarrassed about my behaviour. It was Cassie's house, so it was Cassies' bone. I should have let her have it back but the fact that she kept trying to stand on my head to get it...aye, aye, aye, it just made me crazy.

Pretty soon, foster lady was saying, "I think it's time we go before they both really go nuts!". Now, I do not 'go nuts' being the gentleman that I am. However, I may have tried to nibble delicately on Cassie's entire face, and admittedly that may not have ended well.

No matter, I still love my sweet Cassie. Maybe I will just insist on full body padding before we next meet!

Here we are playing...

Here we are waiting for treats..

And here we are about to take a dip in Cassie's own private pond. She is one lucky duck!

Now foster lady is saying we have to go to bed because we have to get up at 5am to drive somewhere. No, no, no. I am staying here in this comfy house in this comfy chair. She can go on flapping around the universe with our car, but I am currently at 15.000 kms travelled in that thing and pfft! I am done!

Just look at how adorable I am in every available horizontal space. This is my new occupation: perro caballero de la casa. Gentleman dog of the house.

And as an extra bonus before I close my eyes for good for the night, here's the reason I was so tired: my new friend Spencer!
