The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

My son used to have ferrets, pungent is the word!:)
I had girls, which aren't as bad as the boys, and they were only dinky small. They didn't really smell, but we did wash their bedding a lot. They smelled most when they just woke up, it was funny. But you could stick your head up to them and breathe in deeply and not smell anything other than warm. It was far better than the smell of wet dog :)

Hola todos! I am back to take over things because you all have gone loco. First foster lady talks about taxes, now all the talk about deleeeecious poo. You all are making me want to roll in some of that fabuloso fox poo or some delicate ferret wee, but is there any around here? No, nada. I can't even get any more sheep poo because foster lady says, "No more fields with sheep, Carbon!". Pfft! Is it any wonder why she is calling me Señor Grumpy Pants? Wouldn't YOU be grumpy?

Oh donde estoy? Were was I?

Si, fotos, fotos y mas fotos! Finally some new photos to share!

Today we went to Padstow. Padstow reminds me a leeetle bit of our town in Germany, except there's an ocean and there are less pretzels on the ground. But instead there are men who hand out sausiges to hungry Labradors, so that's even better.

Get ready for a lot of "scenery" photos. For once this is not foster lady's fault. It is I. Or it is me? Either way, I'm just not very happy being a model any more so foster lady promised, "More scenery shots and less YOU, Carbon".

So here goes. One of the many lovely houses in Padstow that I tried to wee on. Foster lady says, "No, Carbon, no!" but I say, "Si, Carbon, si!"

Then we walked up the hill and saw this:
P1130261.jpg

I sat and watched these deer having their dinner. Si, I know they are deer even though foster lady kept saying, "See the puppies" and giving me a treat. I do not know why she keeps calling things puppies that are clearly not puppies, but if she wants to give me a deleeeecious cookie every time we see a fake "puppy" then I say, "Mira, aren't those puppies?!" and look at it and take my cookies. De verdad, humans are a little simple in the head sometimes. It is SO easy to get cookies from them!

Oh, and see that man in the photo above? After he gave the deer their food, one of the big deer wearing a funny hat came up and kissed him on the cheek!

Here is the funny kissing deer:
P1130265.jpg

And a baby deer. Or sabes, this one is small enough, maybe he really is a puppy? That little puppy Reuben who kept stealing my toy the other day was about the same size. Makes me all nervous, a giant squishy puppy! But this baby looks nice and reminds me of my chihuahua friend in Germany, Fine.

Then even though we went to have a walk in town, we ended up in a field. Again! But sadly no sheep poo. It was a growing stuff kind of field instead.

Shadow selfies!

Now you see me...

Now you don't...

The view on our walk...

And this is where I told foster lady I wanted to live: in this house on the beach with about twenty doggie friends. Then my life would be perfecta, no?

this is why I love living in Cornwall
I think you suit Cornwall :)
This was definitely third time's a charm for this last trip to Cornwall. Not that I didn't like it on the other two trips, but this time it was like finding my Cornish happy place.

I also got over expecting it to be like - and looking for similarities with - either Ireland or Scotland, something I was guilty of for the first couple trips. Now I can see it as Cornwall, not a place that is like some other place I love. And November...perfect time of year to visit.

I'm very much looking forward to going back and staying for a lot longer!

Hola todos!

It is I, Señor Grumpypantalones! Si, that is what foster lady is calling me these days. Claro que si, I still think of myself as Carbon the Spanish gentleman dog, but foster lady just sighs, shakes her head and says, "No, Carbon, you are no gentleman. You are Señor Grumpypantalones!" Que divertida, how funny, foster lady. Even if I wasn't feeling grumpy before, maybe I am now that I have such an undignified name!

Lots has been happening since my last update, so it's time to show more photos. Si, si! Before we left the beeeeeutifual muy guapo Cornwall place, we visited Kate, Paul, Nelly and evil squishy puppy Reuben.

Pfft! I still do not like Reuben. Foster lady bought ME a brand new bat stuffie toy and then Reuben stole it! So I had to take it back and give him a stern talking to about stuffie theft. Nelly didn't like that and she gave ME a stern talking to, which scared me so much I had to talk back to her.

De verdad, mis amigos, it all got a little messy.

But eventually we all calmed down and had a siesta. Siestas - and food and tennis balls - fix almost all things in life, no? I still didn't like that foster lady kept picking Reuben up and giving him belly rubs - she should only rub MY belly - but I do have to admit that he is pretty cute and has a lot of courage to keep trying to steal my new bat toy.

In the end, I let him keep it. I am a Spanish gentleman dog, after all.

Then it was time to leave our house in Cornwall. I was really sad about that and made sure I stayed very close to foster lady while she was packing the car. I didn't want her to forget me, no matter how much I love beeeeeutiful Cornwall. I also made sure all my stuffie friends came with me. There are lot to keep track of now: Bunny, Rose Bunny, Devil, Crinkle Monkey, Hippo. All tucked into the car and ready to GO!

Before we left, we did meet the owner of the Cornwall house, a little girl Yorkie. She tried to look at my beloved tennis ball and I had to give her a stern talking to. Then she had the audaciteeee - yes, that's a big word for a Spanish dog - to give ME a stern talking to in return. What is it with these strong Cornish girl dogs? It all ended just fine - meaning that I got to keep my tennis ball - but foster lady sighed again and said, "See, Carbon, this is why I call you Señor Grumpypantalones."

Vale, I'm starting to see that maybe she has a point about that.

So before we leave our Cornwall house completely, here are some of the weird and wonderful things that were inside it. They made foster lady laugh and gave me interesting things to sniff. Foster lady says funny stuff like this makes it seem like a real home. And it meant she was taking photos of things that weren't ME, so that's good too!

A life-sized Rottweiler or a giant Dachshund? You decide...
P1130307.jpg

A stuffie in a bucket? Let me have a nibble...
P1130309.jpg

My friend Benson was very tempted by all these rubber ducks, but @Beanwood kept them safe...
P1130314.jpg

Mmmm....I am but a dog, so I don't know what to say about this one...
P1130315.jpg

A nice welcome message and a huge teddy collection...
P1130300.jpg

Foster lady LOVED this light up tree. Personally, I think that a tree that you can't wee on is a bit useless, no?
P1130301.jpg

A frog in a hat. Again, a mystery to a Spanish gentleman dog..
P1130303.jpg

Then it was all in the car and off to our special Cornish town Padstow where foster lady got me a new bandana and I made sure to get a a pasty for @Mr Beanwood at the bakery- because despite my grumpy trousers I am indeed a thoughtful Spanish gentleman. Also I just wanted a sausage for ME from the bakery. No soy tonto, I'm no dummy.

We drove and drove and drove and then...my friend Harley! I got to see @Naya again, too. She is a magic lady. First here in Eeeengland, then she's in Germany, then she is back in Eeeeengland.

I LOVE playing ball with Harley. She is the only one who really understands the power of a good ball. You are my soul sister, guapa Harley!
P1130337.jpg

Now THAT'S a concentration face.
P1130345.jpg

Here we are in action!

That's all for now! I have lots more adventures to tell you since I got to see my Spanish friend Paul - now Vizzy - yesterday, but now I have to go and have a big walk with @Selina27 and Cassie and I don't want to be late!

Hasta luego, guapos!
