Oh yes indeed - they wear bells for free running so that their owner can hear where they are - and the owner uses their long cane. This is why their recall must be 100% ++

Their owners have to be proficient with a long cane before they are considered for a Guide Dog. GDs give long cane training.

I’d leave it behind, this way I always have a whistle - an unhygienic whistle!

I don't always use a lanyard because when I send down to pick up poo the whistle dips in or towards the poo. I don't fancy blowing it after that.
