Spencer - Guide Dog In Training 🐾

Did you see the nature show on orphaned bear cubs in Russia yesterday? Can't remember what it was called, sorry, or even what channel it was on! But when they released the cubs into the wild, after months of caring for them, training them to forage etc, it made me think of you. The caretakers were very emotional, as you'd expect; the same mixture of pride and sadness.

I did.

I said to Mr Boogs “At least our pups don’t have to dig their own den and look out for hunters!”

I was amazed at what the couple went through year after year bringing up orphaned cubs and setting them free.

We were lucky in 2007 to visit Canada and watch a bear and her three cubs not 100 yards away from us, they were busy catching salmon and didn’t even see us!

Poor innocent little chap.....
(is that his favourite bed?)
We have three beds in this room plus Tatze’s chair. He sleeps on whichever is nearest to me, even if he’s in a deep sleep he moves if I move. :)

One of the beds is undergoing repairs. He isn’t a bed destroyer, it’s just wear and tear which has caused it to need a new underside.

Mr Boogs is away on a walking holiday in Majorca. No, I’m not jealous despite the 18 degrees and fabulous photos - I could have gone with them but prefer to be home with the dogs as it’s not long since we were away in Heidelberg.

But I have been very lazy. It’s 11am now and I still haven’t taken either of them out. Tatze usually goes on a long, two hour walk with Mr Boogs at 9:30 and he drops me off somewhere to do a training walk with Spencer and get the bus home.

Tatze is not impressed at all and is lying looking meaningfully at the door. Spencer is a star and has been getting his toys out one at once, throwing them for himself or chewing them.
