Oh my god I’m so cross.

Walking Mas this morning and a little jack Russell comes out of no where - owner is about 20 metres behind us.

We stand and wait for the owner to catch up, meanwhile the JR is prancing trying to entice Mas to play with her - the owner catches up and we share a smile at dogs totally ignoring us...

The JR is prancing around with Mas who is weirdly not playing back - very unusual. He is just standing there.

Then the JR turns around and moves her tail to the left... I look... i wrack my brains trying to remember what that means... then I ask...

Is she in season?

Oh yes said the owner, that’s why she’s chasing after other dogs - little harlot.

Omfg.

I told her clearly that Mas was entire and that I thought she was being incredibly irresponsible.

She actually had the nerve to point out that if I had my dog ‘done’ it wouldn’t be a problem would it?

I’m Absolutley convinced she had taken the dog out to try and get it pregnant.

My head nearly exploded.

I genuinely have no idea.
It was totally surreal - I mean not only was the dog off the lead but she was activity encouraging them to play! It was only when the tail went to the side that I questioned it.

I presume I’m lucky that Mas is only 10 months old and didn’t show any interest (other than a good sniff at her bits)

I had a norty moment a couple of weeks ago , at the woods . I spotted a lady way up the track , she saw us and shouted out , " Is your dog an entire male ? " Yes , I shouted back , bearing in mind that Reubs look rather large . I then watched her frantic attempts to catch her cocker spaniel who was playing Catch me if you can , whilst I drew ever closer . Eventually , after an unscheduled mud bath , she got her cocker on lead , saying " That was close , she is in season and I didn't expect to see anyone else around so early " Not to worry I replied , my boy is only four months old and I doubt very much if he has a clue what its all about , have a nice day xx
