My monster

Merlin is big and tall at 36 kg, but you can see his ribs. I think he could easily carry a couple more kilos, but I keep him very slender because of his hips.

Reuben is a real beauty Kate, and a credit to you.

Thank you , Karen x I understand your wishes to keep Merlin slim , we do what we can to help our beloved dogs . Although Reubs has no issues that I`m aware of , I chose to keep him slim too, given his size . I truly dont mind people mentioning his long legs , I have a thick skin and know he looks like a prancing colt ! but some can be very cruel in their comments , which I dont like at all ! xxx Edited to add that no one on here is guilty, its two " friends " in particular who have been derogatory in comments x

They’re probably just jealous of what a gorgeous boy he is kate!

As long as he’s healthy it doesn’t matter how big he is! The only thing that annoys me is when people talk about their 100lb Labrador that is clearly about 30lb overweight which is not going to be the case with Reubs!

I'm definitely guilty of having mentioned Reuben's long legs but I LOVE long legs on dogs so I meant it as a compliment. He's got such an elegant run compared to some of us who haven't quite figured out they have four legs which must somehow co-ordinate.

Pepper was just under 4kg at 10 weeks, which I thought was small but now I’ve the pic of Stanley I know what small means! At 14 months Pepper’s just under 25kg and his weight has been constant for the last 3 months so I don’t think he’ll put on much more.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what size they are, they are all adorable!

Exploit this for as long as you possibly can, monty was never very small but had a young looking face for quite a while. Out in public he was a 'cheeky puppy until he nearly 3 years old:giggl:
Yes, when Chewie is leaping around on the end of the lead I always pointedly say something like "crazy puppy" for the benefit of passersby.

How rude! Our pets are our family. You would never say that about someone's human family member, so why is it okay about their dog?

I can't believe someone used the word defect about darling Reuben. This person is not your friend.

Maxx topped out at 47.6 kilos but has definitely lost weight. I'm guessing he is about 43 now? So Axel at 46 is the winner I reckon :)

Someone at training last week said 'what do you feed him? Other Labradors?'. Not. Funny. Well maybe a little bit
