Hide and seek

Am I the only numpty that still hides from their dog?

Cupar is 5 now and most of our walks are through fields. At the moment the hedges are nice and hidable
If he goes too far in front and is not paying attention, I hide. I did this when I was doing recall training when he was a puppy but I've never stopped playing hide and seek, I even get the grandkids involved.
This grown woman gets such a kick out of the expression on his face when he finds me.

I still play Hide and Seek with Joy too. The other day when I was hiding a man stopped and asked if I was alright. I told him I was fine, just hiding from my dog. He said 'Hiding from your dog?' in somewhat incredulous tones. Well, how do you begin to explain? So I just said 'Yes', like it was the most normal thing in the world. He carried on walking and probably went home with a story about an odd middle aged woman with her arm in a sling standing behind a bush to hide from her dog. I bet I livened up his day no end!

I don't do it as part of making the dogs want to keep an eye on me, but we do play it for fun - this always involves J as well, though, because I could never hide from them all any other way. So I'll keep the dogs with me while J hides, then they go find him and while they're searching, I hide. We can ping-pong like this for ages, and the Labs all love it :)

I usually peek round a big tree and watch Maisy, I like to see what she does when she realises I am not there. It's not really a hide and seek game but maybe I should start making it into one - jump out from behind the tree and shout 'surprise', that would probably get me reported!

And of course @Cupcase it is perfectly normal

My old boy loved hide and seek but he liked to hide then jump out on me. He loved it we would play it for ages. He'd hide in the garden then jump out at me I would run off pretending to be scared then hide and when he came to get me I'd jump out and he'd run off pretending to be scared.
The funniest one happened when he was hiding in some bushes. Me and a friend were watching him hiding as we came down a hill. He was so excited he could barely contain himself he didn't realise we could see him.. we both smiled and walked passed his hiding place he leapt out and was so excited had the zoomies. He was so funny I miss him but have such fond memories. It was so nice watching him take so much pleasure being silly.
