Doggy brags

There's this toy poodle that we sometimes see that is incredibly dog aggressive. We try to give it space, especially as its owner is this rather sweet, but totally oblivious, older lady who speaks maybe 2 words of English. she just drags the dog along on its dental floss lead.

Today they came up behind us, and there was nowhere to go so I put Chewie into a sit stay next to the bus stop. He got up once but was otherwise really good. He just sat there looking and wagging his tail. He never responds with aggression, but just with more "friendly!" signals, but I would rather avoid the situation altogether.

Once they were past we set off again, walking parallel down opposite sides of the road. Chewie ignored the other dog completely.

I'm really happy with how much his behaviour has come along!

Oh and I managed to walk him right past a HUGE dead possum with some distracting talk and loads of treats. Phew!

Molly and I have been at our first real-life Kennel Club Rally competition today (down in Somerset) and we came first in both level 1 and level 2. I'm thrilled to bits and can't quite believe it. Molly really did me proud and we scored 209 in level 2 and a perfect 210 in level 1.
Wonderful well done both of you :celebrate::star: Any photos Joy

Met a lady with her dogs this morning - haven’t seen her for ages as F normally does the long walks. We stopped to chat (more about that on another thread). She said what a lovely girl Red is (whom she sees regularly). She said she had said the same to F recently and he had attributed it to my training and what a good job I had done. Obviously I was pleased to hear this but laughed as F has never really said that to me 😉. I did say to her that it’s a work in progress, which of course it is......but it was lovely to hear
