I pay 450 euro's per year. I get 80 % covered with max 6000 euro per year. Hunter's knee operation cost 2500 euros. His other 2 elbow operations were also 1200 euros each. So relieved I insured 8 weeks old Hunter! OH said I was over the top insuring a puppy!
I think @Emily that your pet...
The top stitches looked infected and he was very restless last night so I had him checked out today. The top stitches are very irritated so we have more antibiotics. The bottom stitches will be removed on Friday but we'll keep the top ones. Slow but steady progress. OH will be in charge next...
@JES72 Worst case see it as a test so you know what sort of questions to ask. The older 10 month girl looks lovely and fluffy but if you want to start with a clean slate....No harm in ringing and testing out the waters?
Thanks for asking. Very restless at the moment. I think his stitches are itching and is driving me nuts. The hot humid weather does not help but luckily today it is slightly cooler His top stitches looked a little weepy last night but seemed OK this morning. Keeping an eye on them. He can't...
@Naya I have so much respect and admiration for you and your approach to caring for Harley. You really are doing an amazing job. You are both very lucky to be in each other's lives. The recovery time is very long but oh so worth it x
We are getting the stitches out on Friday. The surgeon wants to keep the cone on to stop infection
From experience he gets less problems if they keep the cone on longer with a TPLO operation. Hunter struggled to settle with the heat last night. Me too! @HAH I will try to sneak a power nap in...
They do know how to throw curve balls at us! Glad to know it was only a few days of no walks. It's really hot here today as well. Sorry about the stupid dog owner in the park. It sounds like her progress is going really well. Baby steps x
My pooh dance worked. I waited for his painkillers to kick in after breakfast et voila! :dogpoo:Two bagger! We had a much better night. He actually walks on his back leg a little. Surgeon says it's OK but needs to rest. I think we are going in the right direction. Hot weather is not helping but...
I actually now only put the cone on him when I can't be with him. The soft cone makes it really easy to take off/on. He uses it like a pillow. We were having a stare off in the photo. He wanted to lie down in the soil and I wouldn't let him and was tempting him inside with breakfast. If it was...
We had a better night and he has just been checked by the surgeon . I have to keep an eye on his stitches in case they get infected. Still no poop! We are slowly getting there
You really have no idea what all your support means to us.
I have a transparent cone but he was very stressed with it. The cone is quite comfy and I can easily take it off with the velcro fastening for eating and small wees. He has not pooped since Monday morning so I am quite concerned. I think he is scared. He has just settled outside our bedroom...
Not anymore. We had to take the bandage off today as it had slipped down. Plus he had a rash underneath the dressing which must have been making him uncomfortable. 3 weeks with the cone!
Had one for his elbow ops as a puppy. Just tried it. Might be slightly small. He wants to lie in the soil and I can't let him as the stitches will get infected.
He is exhausted.
Thanks @Naya. My vet took the dressing off. He now has a huge rash from the shaving so I now have cream. He won't settle at all and sits. He can't seem to find a comfy position to lie down. I have medicine to calm him down but is not working. The cone of shame has stressed him out. Really don't...
We had a much better night. Still confused but I got a slight good morning wiggle. He is very clingy this morning and I just noticed his bandage has moved and we can see stitches at the top
Too early for the vet....
I got him in our bedroom and he lay down. Our room is much cooler so I will leave him there. The GA takes him at least 48 hours to work through his system. He just had a huge wee in the street. He does not like to wee or poop in the garden. He is finally resting. Poop wil be interesting as he is...
