Dogs are SO observant. How they pick up on the slightest little thing is amazing.

Ours are not insured, I keep a fund for them. However, both the cost of vet consultations and medications and the cost of insurance plus the availability of vets here has probably put pay to me ever having another dog, and that makes me so sad.

I've just been told "old age, wear and tear, it happens to everyone..." and I take naproxen (infrequently - I only have mild osteoarthrits in my knee and haven't pushed further). I suppose it's because we don't pay for it.
