Oh @MellowYellow how worrying for you - hopefully you’ve seen the emergency vets by now and you’ve got a strong plan. Very gentle strokes for Merlin and Poppy, poor pups x

    Beds.

We’ve got one of the Omlet bolster beds Large Dog Beds | Omlet which Kipper uses on and off, and a George Barclay mattress Dog Beds On Sale: SAVE Up To 30% which he uses most nights. He mainly sleeps on our bed, we’ve built a small platform with a dog ramp which he has learned to use brilliantly...

    Teething chews

We had a heck of a time with Stilton’s teething (still need to replace the doors and replaster the wall…), so solidarity with you for that phase. We had similar with the chews, we found that the medium bully rolls (beef) from Anco and others were generally thin enough for him to chew up rather...

    What made you smile today?

It’s Stilton’s birthday today, he’s a whole 2 years old! He’s a sweet, funny, clever boy who has an excellent sense of humour and loves cuddling - whilst we’ve still got a fair journey to travel to get the boys cohabiting comfortably, we are very pleased to have him in our lives x

    Red is not well

Sorry if this is something you’ve already tried but would an inflatable doughnut be an alternative? Anecdote suggests they’re far more manageable and comfortable for the dog.

    Hot cross buns!

Agree with others - raisin toxicity does seem to vary a lot depending on the individual. Maybe phone the vet to get their advice?

    Red is not well

Kipper’s feeling brighter every day. Poos are still not quite solid, but we’re getting there - possibly last day of chicken and rice today. On the costs, we’ve just reached our insurance maximum for Kipper so are now paying for everything which is tough. Our vet has agreed to reduce their...

    Poppy not eating!!!

Phew, glad the diarrhea’s stopped and she seems a bit more stable. Poor Poppy - I hope her afternoon outing gives her a bit of a boost.

    Red is not well

This is really welcome news of Red, @Atemas - your nursing is paying off, hopefully she’ll be back to full wag very soon. Kipper’s feeling brighter thank you, he’s wolfed down two helpings of rice and egg today and he did a nearly-solid poo this afternoon  Hopefully we’ll all have more...

    Red is not well

Good news that she’s weeing, and you’re having success with adding water to her food. Does she like milk? Or very weak chicken stock? We’ve had some success with them in the past. Kipper’s got appalling diarrhea at the moment so he and I have been up a few times in the night (and just now)...

    Red is not well

Oh poor Red - what a horrible thing to happen. Sending you all stacks of lambies and hoping she’s feeling better very soon :thelambiesarecoming:

    Doggy brags

What a brave boy, this is good to hear Kelsey - well done to you and Hugo for all your work on this, it must have been a horrible feeling going in unarmed but great news he didn’t struggle. Is it possible to get meds you can keep at home in case of emergencies? Maybe you’ll never need them again...

Music lessons applied to dog training

I think this is brilliant, what a helpfully laid out example @Joy ! It makes me think of an Instagram post I read the other day from a trainer who has a new baby and was reflecting similarly on her baby learning new skills in context and in stages, similar to her dog - you make the point so...

    Joy's eyesight.

This is an excellent question, and I think we just don’t know. But we do know that the five senses we do know about are very well attuned, and in my observations there is a combination of extremely developed abilities that help dogs perceive things we don’t, but we see the ‘uncanny’ results -...

    Vets of today

We’re pretty religious about it, and I would definitely forget without the vet reminder! Not sure this would be critical for health and I entirely understand people being more relaxed, but I prefer to know they’re not carrying too many parasites.
