Beautiful photos @Jelinga, of both of them. It sounds like you're making great progress with Flicka. I think with anxious dogs in many ways slow is better so they aren't in danger of overwhelm.

So sorry that this happened! Can you maybe give it some time and have a chat to them about the next catch-up and set a kind but firm boundary? I don't think it's ok for them to bring their dog over and put Red in that position in her own home. Maybe once they have had a few weeks to mull it over...

They're such characters. Chewie also pulls this hilarious face when he's trying to tell us something (demand something really). He sort of lifts his top lip (but not enough to see any teeth) and puffs it out. It usually goes with little tippy tappies and a high pitched bark.

Chewie talks back. And I don't mean just barking. Little groans, grunts and squeaks. And when he's had enough of us silly hoomans a big huff and sigh.

We also get this all the time. "Our puppy is six ... Can't you see his grey muzzle?" Yesterday we went to my nephew's birthday party at a ropes course and rock climbing place. Rowan had such a blast and we had several parents come up to us telling us they were amazed by how brave he was...

When we finally complete our renovation (the DA has been signed off by council, finally) I'd like to have espaliered fruit trees along the back fence. My main concern is large black pests scrumping. 🙄 Like the time he ate all the alpine strawberries.

Yes, we would love a second dog but we just aren't quite there. I'm working exclusively from home now though so maybe soon. 🤣 Though I do still get the dog walker to take Chewie out when I do full days though as it's still not fair for him to sit around watching me work all day.

Sorry that you are feeling bad @Naya. I know you'll make the right decision for you and Harley. If you need ideas for the crate rest there is a great group on FB called Canine Enrichment run by Shay Kelly who has written a book (or two?) about enrichment.
