    Lady getting worse

Brilliant! It needs to be all terraine and possible to lift over the odd kissing gate. I like the idea of the bicycle one but that's not going to work for me. Our uk roads are just not equipped for cycling in the countryside.

    Lady getting worse

I've tried reducing and then stopping the tramadol because I think that's what's got her a bit dopey but then she get's really acute pain in her lower back. She's just jumped up onto the sofa next to me by the way. My shadow!

Actually yes I'd sort of thought of doing something like that but hadn't got any further than thinking about using the wheelbarrow. I'll have a look.

    Lady getting worse

We're going through a bad patch and Lady now won't do the 200yds walk to the field for a wee in the morning. I've taken to popping her into the car and going to a local wood that she likes. This morning she just did what she had to do then asked to go back to the car after only walking about...

If she's having tummy troubles the vets usually have easily digestible food they give their inmates after operations that you can usually buy from them.

Love your description! Especially the blind head movements. Made me laugh out loud. Thank you. Lady's good on hand signals too. She understands the usual left right back etc - she just can't hear the stop anymore. We're only doing stuff with a tennis ball a few yards away so it's all good...

She's also stone deaf which is quite trying and I know Lady finds it difficult. She gets a fright if you come up behind her for example. Also quite trying when trying to play with her. She can't hear the whistle so if I giver her an easy short blind retrieve to do I've pretty much got to...

Just got back from a wood walk. She, by contrast, was very very slow and stiff but I know she still enjoyed it. She's sopping wet having made an error of direction in the pond and converted paddle to dunk!

Yes Karen, she can still make you smile. She's not too bad at the moment so it's obs up and down but she doesn't want to walk any distance. I'm doing a lot of gardening at the moment and she's pretty much joined at the hip doing that which is really nice. Despite lockdown I've started to...

She still has her moments! I've just sat down for a coffee and biscuit after some gardening at the front of the house followed by a merry chase of the SBD. She still has it in short bursts it seems. She'd been lying contentedly in the snowdrops under a tree watching the world go by as good as...

Just got back from a short afternoon toilet walk - about 500m. Very slow and she lay down in a field that was also full of lambs with their mums. She was quite interested in them of course. I think she's still quite content just watching the world go by. Pretty sure there is no discomfort...

Yes she is - 1 x 75mg twice a day plus 1 x 300mg gabapentin three times a day and 28kg dose of Metacam once a day. I tried tapering her off the tramadol (vet said you don't really need to taper with dogs but I did anyway) and she was ok for a while then the back pain kicked in again. Yes I'm...

Yeah! It's a bit tough. I'm thinking we may get to a decision point in the next few months. Lockdown doesn't help either as the vet is only open for meds and emergencies so I can't just pop in for a bit of advice etc. Can't get any physio either of course.

I think we are starting to go south pretty steadily now. The SBD keeps losing full control of her back legs. It doesn't last long but you can see it. We went out for a nice walk this morning. Very slow but about a mile in all letting Lady sniff around and make her own pace - she was fine...
