    ED Progression

Yes I haven't tried that combo but I did do ibuprofen plus paracetamol after my knee and it did work well. The problem when I take NSAIDS is I get alarmingly out of breath so I need to be careful.

    ED Progression

I've just got a referral for my right hip! Unfortunately I can't take most NSAIDs other than intermittently because of a bad allergic reaction to aspirin that shows up a bit in these drugs as well. Back to Lady …. She had a screaming collapse this morning when we were walking. Right elbow...

    ED Progression

Wow. Didn't know us hoomans could take it! I have a new knee and a new hip and now have to have the other hip done and it's really getting quite uncomfortable. Just googled it and the human form seems to be mobicam.

    ED Progression

Lady has ED. A problem around the formation of the choronoid process. She was diagnosed at 2 years old and operated on very successfully. She's 9 in September and has had an additional 7 good active years that she wouldn't have otherwise enjoyed. The weakness in the elbows hasn't gone away...

    Stairs

We've taught Lady not to go upstairs with great success…... Just edit all that to say we've taught Lady not to go upstairs when hoomans are watching with great success!

    Hot Dog!

Alternating between a cool mat from the freezer and a wet towel to keep the SBD comfortable. It's over 33C here (hot for the uk) and humid with it. Lady really struggles in the hot weather poor lamb. It's forecast to be hotter tomorrow but with a chance of rain.

The Kennel Club - no hoomans allowed!

Any of yous guys been put on starvation rations! I mean HE calls it a diet but what he really means is slow STARVING TO DEATH! HE says the VET said I'm a bit on the podgy side and should lose a bit on account of my elbows and all and I've got to lose 6 pounds. I mean that's like a whole leg...

    Just a little lump...

Ah! I think you ARE getting her checked out! Ooops" :)

    Just a little lump...

How old is she. Lady is coming up to 9 years old and is covered in those fatty lumps that Labs seem to be prone to getting. Could it be one of those. I think if it doesn't go down in a day or two I'd get her checked out at the vet.

    The dreaded sound

Oh bad luck. Our little treasure does completely silent throwing up which means a surprise sometimes.

How much do Labradors moult? Or, "Oh my god, look at all the hair!!!"

Lady is continuous plus seasonal. Our Dyson vacuum is completely full of dog hair mixed with mud after just the drawing room, dining room and hall! She's at the same stage as Shadow. I spotted some funny looking tufts on her rump yesterday and idly pulled out a complete fur ball! It spent...

    Off to the vets!

It would help so much if our dogs could talk - wouldn't it? Fingers crossed here.

    Ouch!

Poor lamb. The worst - getting a wasp caught in fur.

    Any Splooters out there?

Lady side-sploots, but no pictures unfortunately. Also I now have a new word that I can throw into conversations!

Passing of friend who opened up a new world to me

The SBD and I have just got back from a rather short hot walk to the edge of the farm. Life goes on. The hay in the long field was cut yesterday and is lying in long strips. The cattle in the adjoining field are moved on to fresh grazing. A lovely if rather warm morning. Lots of butterflies...

Passing of friend who opened up a new world to me

I'm actually not clear now on exactly when we met, but it must have been around 6 years ago. We'd inherited our black Labrador bitch, Lady at 6 months old following the death of our daughter today actually in 2010. We had no clue about dogs really, especially a full on working strain Labrador...
