I've had a weekend away with Tess in Somerset (between Glastonbury and Bridgewater) for a Rally show at a super venue - so much space to walk your dog off lead well away from the competition rings. Another huge plus was that the competition rings were fully fenced. Most shows I've been to this...

I think that this series of videos (not IMDT but by a force-free trainer) are very good. The start of the first one is a bit waffly so you might want to fast-forward to around 50 seconds in - after that it shows a detailed, progressive plan. The next 2 videos should come up on YouTube Tube...

I'm going to be tied up with driving home today but tomorrow I'll dig out some videos and info on LLW.

Yesterday I took Rajah to another Talking Dogs Rally in Kent, which was very enjoyable. Rajah worked well and it felt much more relaxed than Kennel Club events. He entered two Level 1 courses and scored 202 in the first and 196 in the second (marked out of 210), earning himself 2 'Ace' rosettes...

I'm sorry poor Snowie has been through such a rotten period with his skin, but it's great the prednisone is helping. I suspect that if you experiment you may be able to find a lower dose that still keeps his skin ok but isn't enough to create all the other problems. My last dog had skin problems...

Well we had a lovely morning at the show - everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Rajah thought the idea of getting treats in the ring was fab and he performed very well. We scored 182 which earned us an 'outstanding' rosette. (The awards go good, outstanding ,ace.) I was amused as the reason...

Now to my husband's disappointment, this doesn't mean the dogs talk :giggl: ! The Rally competitions that I've done to date have been run by the Kennel Club, but Talking Dogs Rally is a privately run organisation. The signs (exercises) are very similar to Kennel Club ones, the biggest difference...
