I feel so much for you all. Surely a whole country on fire will trigger the governments to do something about climate change now?

    Vacuum cleaners

I have a Henry and I love it. It is easily 20 years old now and still going strong. When this one finally dies I would certainly get another one.

    Sheep herding using positive reinforcement

The vet said he'll be ok. It is a large wound so he has had a long acting AB injection and is lapping up the fuss. :)

    Sheep herding using positive reinforcement

One of my cats came in with a head wound today and because I had trained him as a kitten and reinforced it throughout, I was able to examine the wound before calling our vet. Basically, he was offered a treat and then I waited until he touched my hand with his paw. During the examination he...

    Sheep herding using positive reinforcement

Excellent article. I've trained dogs, rats (fancy), a couple of ferrets and cats positively in my years. In fact I am now trying my hand with a couple of fish. Yes, I am completely mad but it seems to work whatever the species so it makes perfect sense to try it whatever animal you have.

Madame palm and her 5 lovely sisters

Alex is a bit humpy when he is tired too. I usually distract him with a calming game or two and cheeeeez. Works a treat usually.

Ok, we have tornados now. This is climate change. I;m very, very sad for this. It was expected though. We brits generally tend to ignore the signs though. I hope your sister has insurance to cover this or is this under the dreaded act of god clause?

I do hope something can be done for our Aussie friends soon. The fire crews and volunteers must be absolutely exhausted. Stay safe everyone.

    Weather

It's been wet here but not as bad as some places have it. It is also ridiculously mild and I still have roses blooming outside my windows. This year's weather has me daring anyone to deny global warming!

Hello lovely Otter. I am a boi and I think I love you. I think you smell lovely. Intoxicating. I would come and play but I don't have what you need anymore and I think you want to make puppeees. You are as beautiful as the moon hanging in the sweet night sky. Your coat is as glossy as glass and...

    Squidge's plumbing

As a diabetic my first thought was diabetes. I think if you haven't already had her tested then maybe the next test should be that one. Even if she has to have insulin it's not that bad these days.

    Doggy brags

With Amber I'd get a good day and a bad day quite consistently. Now she is mostly constant on the side of nearly good. I love her quirks. That's just who she is. The others have just grown and been consistent in their training and behaviour but Amber is just my mad, happy hippo!

The Kennel Club - no hoomans allowed!

I woke mummy up at four thirty this morning and made her ear bleed. I was shaking and scared so I didn't mean to hurt her. She still cuddled me and told me it was just some nightwear, I didn't think I wore any!

    Last Walk

She went doing something she loved. So very good of you to wait with her owner. Of course it was devastating for you too but you need to know how comforting you must have been. You did a very good thing and should recognise that. Are you able to contact them and see how they are doing?
