The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

I'm not in any way religious but sometimes it does seem that we are meant to move from one situation to another. Maybe this was one of those situations. Something will come along and you'll be glad you didn't get this job? Carbon has such an expressive face. He is lovely.

Guidelines for dogs being left alone

Unfortunately suddenly saying 4 hours as a limit probably will meet with objections so she may have to set a higher limit and gradually bring it down to 4 hours over time. Sad to say but a lot of people reject the welfare of their animals over their own enjoyment. My own dogs are rarely left...

When I want a meaty treat I sit and stare at the cold cupboard thingy and she gets me some meat. I woof quietly at her if I'd prefer a biscuit and she gets me one. How good a trainer am...

    Some people are too proud.

As you say, just too proud and it came back to bite her. My dogs, like most dogs, will have an off day now and then when all training just goes out the window. Just recently they all decided to just run off and not recall. It was in a safe place thankfully but it reminded me that they are dogs...

    Meg

When Alex joined us he was very bitey. Time and patience and calming games (thanks to Fiona) have cured that for the most part. They can sometimes return to puppy/teenage stages with a big change.

We all ran off while we were out today. Mum just stood for a minute with her mouth open and then started yelling. We didn't come back for ages though. She was very quiet on the way home. Amber.
